I admit that I didn't need to add "every day" in the first paragraph but
I have seen posts where services are stated as daily but they really mean Monday to Friday. I was trying to impress that there was no weekend reduction as there usually is with Aer Lingus.
As for the rest of the paragraph, here is a breakdown: -
Winter 2008/9 BHX-DUB was 4 daily in the week and three daily weekend
Winter 2009/10 BHX-DUB was first released as just one daily service
Winter 2009/10 BHX-DUB amended to show three daily services
Therefore there is a loss of one daily service Monday - Friday compared
to last winter which is off no surprise.

Mahan Air
Here is the link to Mahan Air UK website with schedules and onward connections. Flight will operate 4x weekly Wed,Thu,Sat and Sun with A310 equipment.

Your link to the UK Mahan site clearly shows 4 per week....however the link from the Mahan UK website to the international website shows 3 x per week in the ever changing graphic top right.
Who knows best - Mahan's UK GSA (who presumably are responsible for the UK website) - or Mahan Air in Tehran - presumably responsible for the main site?

What really matters is that they have come back and seen the potential at BHX in difficult economic times. I think with the connection to ATQ and a UK website (which I don't think they had before?) it should be a success. And Iran itself is an amazing place to visit, one of the most interesting and beautiful countries I have been to so far in my travels

The Police forensics seem to be concentrating on the perimeter fence near the motorola RND, considering the force helicopter is based near that part of the airfield, had intruders got further onto the airfield, surely they would have been spotted by someone along the way.
We can all but wait and see if the aircraft is a total loss, also does anybody know how many helicopters are available in the west midlands force.

Kazamb. The answer would be as many as PAS have spare to cover such things as scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, I'm sure someone could come up with the actual figure though.
I would think that the ne'er-do-wells who did this were thinking that police 41 would be out for several days so they could have some breathing space to commit their crimes without the spy in the sky looking for them, instead of the several hours it actually turned out to be

Birmingham International Airport Security?
Not for the first time the security of Birmingham airport comes into queston, following the arson attack on the EC135 belonging to the West Midlands Police, where the SINGLE perimeter fence was cut with a pair of pliers, to produce a large hole big enough to accomodate a stolen trials bike and riders.
It beggars belief that my local town carpark is covered by CCTV and yet...at Birmingham that is obviously considered un-necessary.
Imagine if the target had been a fully loaded 757? It would have taken the offenders not more than an additional 40 seconds to ride their machine across the main runway to access every single parked or moving aircraft.
Surely there is now a strong argument for an electic inner fence? a moat? a 10`deep ditch? a CCTV system ?or even a Security patrol??????
Personally, I wont be travelling from this airport again unless there are SIGNIFICANT VISIBLE IMPROVEMENTS to what is a basic apathy attitude to airport security.

To be fair, Huntnhound actually suggests a 10' ditch not a 10" ditch.
I suspect a ditch 10 feet deep would rapidly fill up with water thus providing a moat which unfortunately would probably short circuit the electric fence.

I wondered what an ASU was - Now I know its a Bouncy Castle Inflation Service- Given the apparent state of the Airfield's perimeter fencing - Would you leave an old compressor lying about there.

Just picked up this on Flyertalk
"Was told by driver last week that emirates BHX lounge opens september 1st along with a third daily early morning flight.I believed him up until the point he told me that to celebrate the opening,emirates will fly in the A380.I'm no expert,but i'm pretty sure BHX runway is way too short."
