They add the tax after the fare is showen.

Just say a fare for ORK - XXX is €36.20, then Wizz add €10 "Goverment Tax" and (Cork) Facility Chrage €5.96. Total tax is €15.96 when Wizz should only be charging €8.96 in tax.

They are under no obligation to lower fares but they can't over charge on taxes and then miss lead the passenger by claiming the whole €10 is going to the Goverment.

There were three identical small twin-engined jets parked up in Cork tonight at around 7pm. I couldn't see them very well, but they had no liveries. Anyone know anything about them?

Agreed that they should show the correct amount of government tax... but plenty of airlines show the full tariff for "taxes and charges" when in fact they only pay part of it. For example, a flight from XXX to DUB: let's say XXX's normal charge per passenger is €10, but XXX airport says to the airlne "as an incentive to get you to start a service, we'll only charge you €5 per passenger." Does the airline show €5 on the ticket price? Of course not. They show €10, and they end up paying €5 to the airport and pocketing €5. Same sort of deception, just that in this case Wizz seem to be have been crass enough to try to do this with a very public tax.

The CEO of Eli Lilly was on town over the weekend. The private jets may have been associated with that.

Although good for anyone heading to London for work. If you are returning home for the weekend, flying back on the Monday morning is practical.

Flew AMS-ORK last thursday night on the retro A320. Plane looked spanking at the gate in AMS along side the DUB bound A320. Lovely flight landed on time in awful visability, landed from the north, could'nt see the terminal from the landing point. We then pulled into gate 5 with the airbridge, and had to walk around it to access the terminal. It was like a ghost looking down on us. I'v been to mickey mouse airports all round the world that have airbridges, this is really gone beyond a joke. When the DAA were purchasing the twenty odd airbridges, why did'nt they get three more and installed them in ORK. Are all the airbridge's being used in SNN, could some of them not be dismantled and brought to Cork?

Cork have got 4 in 2005 as originally planned only for the fact that Aerlingus told the DAA that they weren't going to use them.

They started to use it for a while, mainly for the LHR flights, it's really annoying to fly in from another airport where they have used the airbridge and then to be trated with this crap, might as well fly with FR if this is the case. Dermot Mannion has a lot to answer for from his time as CEO.

Was Cork closed this morning or weather a problem. Lots of flights diverted to SNN and many running hours late.

Probably, I did the ORK-STN run on Tuesday and we just made it at both ends. Incoming arrived 10+ mins late in minimum conditions, landing in STN was also min., we were over the perimeter fence when it cleared.

BTW, the dolly on the bag drop said 'no problem' with the flt., all the RyR aircraft stay the night here...... doh......

Weather very poor in Cork for the last few days, very low cloud, not clearing at any stage during the day.

With theses reductions it will push passengers towords Dublin. Even though Ryanair have made massive cuts to eastren european routes.

As the 50th anniversary of Cork Airport approaches we will shortly be without a Dublin service for the 1st time in the airports history. The number of flights from UK carriers also looks like being confined to a twice weekly Jet2 service from Newcastle, also a record low
Now we have Wizz slashing their schedule. No wonder there are no anniversay celebrations!

I'd be really surprised if Aer Arann didn't come back on the Dublin route in the coming year.
