I see that Scot have started repainting their Dorniers into new colours now their complete Air France codeshare has started. Not into Air France colours, but into the new Cityjet colours which their RJ fleet is also being repainted into (basically white, one red stripe on tail, Cityjet fuselage logo in Gaelic script).

It seems strange that, having launched many new services under the Air France banner, Cityjet (wholly owned by Air France nowadays) are changing their livery away from the Air France scheme to something independent.

Many people down here in Devon want a EXt-LCY connection....wonder whether AF would consider using one of the Dorniers on this one day.

Bril news for LCY - VIE - didn't see that one coming I have to admit!

After disembarking from my EDI-LCY flight in July I had to board a bus to the terminal, which per se is fine. But it took over 10 minutes to go what was really a short distance due to aircraft turning to get onto their stands. Quite irritating at what is otherwise a very efficient airport.

VIE-LCY:

The press release says JAN08, while Amadeus shows flights starting on 29OCT07. Not sure what is correct, but I would suspect the later date.

great news for LCY. How are Air France/Cityjet doing? I recently flew LCY-GVA-LCY on the way back we were delayed 3 1/2 hours as 2 aircraft went tech. Also any news on the Swiss RJ100 parked up? The seats were taken out but any ideas what will happen to it now?

Airport was really busy with construction work when I went past yesterday, failing to photograph the warships at the Excel as they had already gone(!)

The SWISS RJ100 looked quite peaceful but there was no activity. Surely moving this is a job for a Saturday afternoon when the airfield is closed? If anyone knows when they're gonna do it I'll get my camera....

Police tape seals off the approach to the Red Bull site on the North Side.

I note that on one of the airline news websites, it says that Swiss are going to operate a service between LCY and Bucherest via Geneva with an A319......is the LCY - GVA sector going to be as it is with an RJ and then onwards on a A319? I can't see an A319 with pax onboard landing at LCY

Swiss RJ100

Well it was still sitting there on Sunday, the 16th.

Will be a major operation to float it over to where the Red Bull runway is, they will have to remove some fences on that side of the dock. If anybody knows when it is going to happen it would be worth seeing. Will bring my camera.

-
update - well they have now done it!
Any pics of the RJ100 on the barge ? ?

Much talk of rapid Seat-to-Street times but I need it to be the other way around!

On Sunday (30th) I have to take my mother there for the 15:20 Manx2. When she arrived, they met here with the wheelchair and pushed her all the way out to the drop off/collection point. To save parking, I 'held off' at a remote point and waited for her to phone be from baggage collection and by the time I go to the drop off, she was there. So it all worked a treat.

For the return: Will I have to drop her at the drop-off, then park up, then take her into check-in? Can I get the wheelchair people to meet us at the front? She could walk from the car park but that would be taxing for her.

(Please don't ask 'If she has such difficulty walking - then why is she flying?') She can walk fine, slowly at 81 with her stick but fine. I do not want to tire her out when she may need her feet and energies for a possible emergency evac!

So - can I get the wheelchair people to meet us at drop off, or must I park up?

Thanks.

....for the 15:20 Manx2
You're not the first to get these similarly named IoM airlines confused, and I'm sure you won't be the last...

True, it is EuroManx when I look more closely but the question is about LCY!

I was just about to ask "why the heck don't you just park the car" but then realized that one hour of parking at LCY costs 6.50 GBP so I will just

On a more seroius note, given the recent success of the "from website survey to real life route" principle, HEL and BCN are being surveyed as possible future destination on the airport's website. I would guess that LCY-HEL is quite a stretch with the Avros (with props incl. the Q400 being completely out of question).

As we are just at it, does SAS still use the Q400 on the CPH route and if so, what has happened since the landing dramas at AAL and VNO? Just imagine the AAL would have happened at LCY - the aircraft would have ended in the water veering off the runway to the right.

SAS have been cancelling LCY services since the incident, It was due to return on 24th september but not sure if they have.

Does anybody know who the Atlantic Airways BAe146/Avro was operating for yesterday?
