That doesn t sound to good does it ... they must have some idea as to the contractors continuing the work or not

This winter is going to be pretty quiet though especially on some days Sunday in particular in Nov and early Dec when there are only 3 flights ! and they are all Ryanair schedules

Talking of which they still need to do some tinkering with there winter flights out of Bournemouth as many still clash with departure times

Don't panic

Been told by a good source that the arrivals hall will be ready by summer 2010 and the only reason for the perceived delay (although its not actually a delay as it has been planned this way) is for manpower and resources. Only once the main departures section has been fully structured will the arrivals hall and associated buildings be constructed with the same crew. There will also be a new operations building which is contracted to go ahead - it cannot be cancelled. Landscaping is also to be done last while the arrivals halls are being completed.

Makes good sense to do this as has already been discussed

Ground work for the arrivals area is already prepared and buy the look of how quickly the outside structure for the departures went up they should be able to achieve this

Out of interest is the check in hall going to be updated as this is still the old part of the terminal where the desks are already in place , i know there are 12 check in desks but somehow they look old fashioned and out of place when a brand new build is linked to this

The winter will be quiet so hopefully they should be able to crack on with this ready for a busy summer 2010 with the new based Thomson air 737 800 and may be even a second Ryanair aircraft not to mention good old Palmair !

That will be Three / Four ( possibly ) Base Aircraft !

Suppose with all those polytunnels they can turn it into a garden centre !

Stats

CAA published statistics are comprehensive and permit deduction of just about every permutation of airlines, pax and freight that you could imagine for every airport in the British Isles.

Here's the link to a good place to start digging:

BOH pax split between airlines in July

Hi,

I can give you a start:

The total number of passengers (scheduled and non-scheduled) at Bournemouth in July was 88,236.

By my calculations, Ryanair carried 64,317, which is 72.89% of the total number of passengers. Other airlines carried 23,919, which is 27.10%.

easyJet and Ryanair

With Ryanair pulling out of Manchester (apart from DUB) and easyJet pulling out of East Midlands (completely) what does this mean for BOH with these two airlines???

Revised Website

Seem to have a revised, fresher and easier to navigate website.

Plus update on the GBP45m development - click the link below for more:

Bournemouth Airport : New terminal building takes shape

Seems to indicate that departure terminal will be open spring 2010 and arrivals summer 2010 (arrivals in an update report within the link)

Ryanair have been tinkering around with the winter schedules from Bournemouth
Dublin gets the early morning flight now on a Monday , Wednesday , Friday and Sunday with Edinburgh on the days in between and the rest of the week a more reasonable mid morning service

The Gerona route goes back to a Gerona based aircraft ( originally a BOH based a/c until the new Spanish routes were announced ) and Wednesday has been reintroduced making it 3 x week , still well down on the daily schedule before

All in all the based aircraft is fully used now this winter but the flights are well down this winter and it should be a quiet time on some days

Was the shambles going through security on Monday morning normal or just a one off. Ryanair passengers for EDI were arriving at the airport on 30 mins before departure as they had "checked in on line".

Last time I went through departures at BOH there was a huge queue at security, two x-ray machines and only one of them manned. I asked a member of staff why they didn't use both and was told that "the airline only pays for us to use one".

95,785 pax in Aug 09

Pax down 16.8% compared to Aug 08.

Ahead of Exeter, which recorded a 17.4% drop to 94,842.

No PIK in Aug 09 which last Aug carried 16,905 pax!!

Good passenger numbers for August with the usual Spanish hot spots dominating the top routes as usual

1 Palma / Gerona with 10, 774 / 10, 766
2 Malaga / Alicante with 9074 / 9029
3 Edinburgh with 8091
4 Murcia with 5929
5 Reus with 5529

Good loads finally on the new Ryanair routes to Carcassone and Limoges of about 83 % although it was peek season time
Disappointing though was Edinburgh with about a 70 % considering no Prestwick route now

Good passenger numbers for August

Slight contradiction here!
