If you believe the press this sunny morn, it seems to be between Flybe & Eastern for the Oslo route.
bmi Reg say not interested in any City Star route.
Not sure if anyone in Norway (eg. Wideroe) is interested.
No mention of Kristiansund in the report today.

Just heard that a Flightline 146 (FM) just mated with an Alpha catering van whilst taxiing onto stand Eye witnesses claim groundstaff were trying to warn crew before impact... (not too bad damage to the wingtip but visible).

Fault with a BT line apparently - rumour going round is that BAA forgot to pay the bill - don't believe that for a minute, BAA are far too organised for something as daft as that

BA take slating on LHR route
Some even suggesting they are deliberating underperforming on the route to "soften it up" to drop it at a later date.
Irate pax pointing to:
Queues at ABZ (although that may be more to do with BAA/BA's handlers than BA - on other hand BA pulled their own ground ops out of ABZ so their own fault?)
Weather, whereby a BA flight was delayed due weather at LHR, whereas a bmi flight to LHR left "more or less" on time
Delays & canx at LHR, where ABZ flights are "always first in line" for disruption
BA deny deliberately performing poorly, saying that they have "no current plans" to change the route or current schedule.
Seems most people still use BA for onward connections rather than AMS or CDG, but it's not the first time BA's performance on the LHRABZ route has been attacked.

Well, I'm now taking a different route to a long haul destination which I would have made in J/C as BA expect me to overnight in LHR as the first flight from ABZ on a Saturday or Sunday only gets in at 09:50.
Now I'm not sure if this has always been the case, I would probably expect it on a Sunday but it's too late to connect to a long haul I need to get to arrive in the ME for the start of the business week on a Sunday!

bmi Regional
1st weekend BA LHR has been around that time since at least 1983! God that dates me!!
I wonder what the future holds for bmi Reg out of ABZ. Last year they dropped 3 routes (AMS & the new BRU & KRS services) presumably all lack of demand...the latter 2 certainly were.
So are the Embraers only any good for MAN, NWI & the odd LHR? Are they perhaps the wrong type of a/c to make ABZ routes (which is, after all their base...for now) work? Are they continuing to look at developing their ABZ network domestically &/or internationally or are they discovering that, in fact there aren't that many routes out of ABZ that justify an Embraer? eg. I thought OSL might have been a possibility now City Star have left the scene, but they said they weren't interested in X9 routes.
There were rumours that they were looking at another a/c type, but appears nothing is coming of that, but they are possibly having difficulty in sourcing more suitable Embraers.
So what do people think the future of bmi Regional is at its home base?
------------------------------------------------------------------
BTW how did ABZ handle the recent Munich-related traffic? Did it all pass off smoothly or was it chaos?

Taxi !
Appears taxi drivers went on strike yesterday evening, protesting over the doubling by the BAA of the fee for drivers picking up fares outside the terminal. How were the queuesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss...........?
One of the taxi operators has resigned its contract for operating at the airport, effective end of March.
But never mind, the BAA has picked up an award beating Ottawa & Hong Kong for the most improved airport teminal. Seems all is fine & dandy after all.

No sympathy for the taxi drivers. They've had it good for years with their "exclusive" contracts besides if having a contract means not being there when flights arrive then I guess nothing will change!

It's ok, BAA/Ferrovial is apparently going to remortgage a number of airports including Aberdeen to raise some cash to service their huuuge debt so things can only improve

Aberdeen Airport 'most improved'
http://www.uk-airport-news.info/aber...ws-270208b.htm
Aberdeen Airport has received an award for achieving the best improvement of all of the world's hubs in 2007. The Airports Council International (ACI) named the Scottish airport the most improved hub in its 2007 service quality awards.
Over 200,000 passenger surveys formed the basis for the awards, covering every aspect of airport operations from check-in to departure. The 'most improved' title goes to the airport which has experienced the biggest improvement in overall customer satisfaction results.
Aberdeen Airport managing director Kevin Brown said: ‘This is a huge honour. Our airport has been picked out from an amazing line-up of fantastic airports worldwide.'
‘We have invested millions to bring the airport up to the high standards our customers rightly expect and deserve. Much work is still to be done, but I am particularly pleased and honoured to see our efforts have clearly been recognised and appreciated by those flying to and from Aberdeen Airport.’
Southampton Airport also performed well, receiving the 'airport people award' – which recognises customer service and courtesy – for the Europe region and was also named the fifth best airport in Europe.
According to ACI, the best air travel hub in the world last year was Seoul's Incheon International Airport, with Kuala Lumpur International Airport second and Singapore Changi in third place. Oporto was named the best airport in Europe.
