Looks excellent and from a distance looks like Eirtech did a superb job on the paintwork. Now, everyone cross their fingers that this venture will work.

The EI livery looks good on the ATR 72.

Does anyone know anymore about the three ATR 72's that are listed on Jethros as leased from Air Contractors.??. Are the being leased for just a few weeks while the ATR72-500's are being painted into EI livery , or are they being leased until the the last 3 ATR72's on order are delivered??.

Er...according to the 5Q's list in the post immediately before yours, an ATR72. Or are you asking something else?

So, there's an aircraft based there overnight. What does that make LDY for that aircraft? A base maybe?

It depends how you define a base. The aircraft will overnight in Derry but there will not be local crew, they will be Galway based crew who will presumably overnight in a hotel in Derry.

Lets not get too technical with the term "base". But a base is when an aircraft and crew are based at a certain airport. If BA nightstop an aircraft in Frankfurt it doesn't mean FRA is a base.

iwhak, my cheek's just fine, and believe me an airline leaving, abandoning, forgetting about, misplacing, or BASING an aircraft at LDY overnight, EVERY night, is just what that airfield needed. I couldn't give a bolleaux how it's "defined".

Semantics and me joking (google it) aside, this development is great for LDY and great for RE; for that we should all be pleased.

Maintenance Staff Unrest

Hi all,

I came across this report in the Independent yesterday regarding maintenance staff unrest in Aer Arann.

Industrial action looms in row over workload at Aer Arann - Irish, Business - Independent.ie

With Aer Arann's financial position reported as being weak, this seems like the wrong course of action in my opinion.

All the best,

P2C.

Aer Lingus Regional / Aer Arann Goes Live

Hey all,

It's been a long time coming but glad to see the Aer Lingus / Aer Arann partnership has finally kicked off. I think this will provide a solid future for Aer Arann and also provide Aer Lingus with a much needed boost on regional UK routes.

Advert Link Removed

On another note this is my 100th post so am quite happy about that also.

All the best,

P2C
