RE and EIR

RE do still offer and operate their own charter flights so not all EIR see them on Edi today and they did CWL for OSPREYS to SNn last week so we can keep separate threads ?

I didn't know RE still did chartering, I thought their aircraft were pretty stretched schedule wise. I did start an EIR thread, good point Hangar6.

Aer Arann are used often for RaboDirect Pro matches plus RBS Six Nations Matches to/from Cardiff.

On Friday just gone Aer Arann was used to take the Ireland team to Edinburgh. Also the same night Connacht rugby chartered Aer Arann to operate their flight to Shannon/Cork.

During the Wales V Ireland weekend there were both Aer Arann charters and Aer Lingus Regional additional flights.

It seems to me that all charters have to be operated under their own brand however Aer Lingus Regional can be used for additional scheduled flights for capacity reasons

Anyone know what has happened to EI-REH? I've not seen her in a month or so.

Has she already left in preparation for the 600's coming? Could she be getting shamrocked? Would be surprised if she goes after just getting cabin refit last December. I wouldn't miss her though!

Aer Arann pilots vote to strike. Fair play to them for standing up for themselves

You would think they might reflect on their fortune in having jobs at all after not so distant events.

It's the Stobart factor kicking in, nobody likes working for them but they have no choice as jobs are thin on the ground. It will be sen staff next.

Just curious to know if Aer Arann would have to hire in aircraft to fulfill their obligations to EI or would there be a clause in the contract that deals with industrial action preventing performance of contract? It strikes me that, with the reports that EIR are delivering lots of pax that connect to EI Transatlantic to/from DUB, this strike might deal a body-blow to that operation.
