ORK BHD

Business traffic will virtually cease if RE operate a morning only service.

ork- dub

I see ork dub is down to a daily lunchtime departure in summer timetable .Its now impossible to connect with most aer lingus transatlantic flights. There will be just the one based atr operating for aer lingus regional.

Ya, just checked and Dublin, Belfast City and Cardiff are all now operated by non based aircraft, so just one based aircraft for the summer.

Have to agree that new Belfast times are useless for business passengers.

I know this'll sound stupid - but is the Durham Tees Valley Airport service from Dublin being operated by Aer Arann or Aer Lingus? If its Aer Arann, where is the aircraft being based?

The Durham Tees Valley service will be on an Aer Arann aircraft Atr 72-500 and will have Aer Arann crew... but the aircraft will be in Aer lingus colours and the crew will wear Aer lingus uniforms. Confusing i know!! lol And the A/C will be DUB based.

RTÉ Business: Aer Arann flying new routes to UK

Kerry - Manchester
Derry - Edinburgh
Derry - Manchester
Donegal - Glasgow GLA

Unclear whether these will be "Aer Lingus Regional" routes... ? Only for sale on the RE website for the moment in any case.

Great news for the Irish regional airports! Was wondering would Aer Arann ever give London City a go from the larger airports, i.e. Dublin, Cork and Belfast, perhaps as Aer Lingus Regional. Think it would be really successful

I had a quick check on Ascend earlier today and it appears Aer Arann have further delayed some of their ATR72-500 deliveries. There's now one due in 2010 (August) and the remainder due in 2011.

Does the new Donegal - Glasgow (GLA) service mean they are stopping the Prestwick (PIK) run from there? Or is it supporting?

Unfortunately it means that they are moving out of Prestwick altogether and flights to Donegal will fly from Glasgow instead. I wonder if Aer Lingus would move down the road to Prestwick if Ryanair eventually took the over.

What's so good about Prestwick? I thought there would be more connections etc at GLA?

It looks like it will be operated with a Galway based crew overnighting in Derry. The aircraft seems to operate:
LDY-DUB-LDY-EDI-GWY
Crew change/aircraft swap
GWY-EDI-LDY-MAN-LDY

I'd guess it will probably be a 42, most of the 72s are committed to Aer Lingus Regional
