A Company spokesman said yesterday:
BA haven't as yet indicated any sourcing of additional A318s yet, also given that LCY-JFK is connecting two major financial sectors from the (near) centre of the London financial district, I'd expect to see another LCY-JFK sector before BOS or IAD. I think it's a particularly small and niche market that too many people have extrapolated into being the next big thing.
Westbound loads aren't great due to the stopover in Shannon, even with CBP, Eastbound loads are better.
Now it's not exactly Concorde, but the analogy rather holds up well given the target market. It only ever made money out of JFK with people willing to pay silly money, that's not the case at BOS and IAD.

Only problem with AMS/CDG is that when Aer Arann did it out of GWY/WAT there was good take up, but sector lengths were very long and thus reduced productivity on the aircraft.
I wonder if the Aer Lingus Regional success will lead Aer Arann towards jets EMB170-190s? Or is there a pilot union limit/contractual limit on the size of aircraft that Aer Arann are permitted to use ?

The sector lengths weren't really the issue. GWY and WAT can be significantly performance limiting especially on the older 72-200s which were the predominant series in the fleet at the time.
A 72-500 would not have an issue out of SNN.
ORK- La Rochelle which is currently operated would have a similar sector length.

When Aer Arann did Amsterdam/Paris from Galway was it not in the leased BeE146's rather than the ATR?
The flights when via WAT as the BeE146's could not take off from GWY with 100 passengers and the right amount of fuel as the runway in GWY was to short.
When the services all operated they were more popular from WAT rather than GWY.
As the sun routes finished on October 30 the Amsterdam service was done with an ATR 72 which also went via WAT.

Passenger Charges to be Increased
The airport will increase charges by €1.58 per passenger. The increase will bring Shannon into line with other regional airports, including Cork, Knock, Aberdeen in Scotland and Southampton in England. However, charges at Dublin still remain lower.
Will Ryanair pull out altogether or make more cuts???

I'm interested to see what they're cutting. The winter schedule has one aircraft fully utilised at the moment, beyond that there are 4 Stansted and 3 Liverpool flights per week by non-based aircraft.

Nope but i suppose every one's back talking about Ryanair again , how that man is in charge of Ryanair is beyond me 0% advertising 89% load factor on flights, you can see why he's there.
The way the news/media where reporting this i was expecting a base withdrawl, as for the so called ''21%'' we'l have to see if this acctually pans out.... Because the weekly flights of the ''24'' is wrong the addition of the once weekly service to ACE, LPA is an additional 2 flights.

Will be intersting to see where the paris flight from shannon will go to noc or kir?. With the way Ml O'Leary was talking the cuts would be a lot more.
Cityjet/Air France are hardly likely to come back on the CDG route.
Aer Lingus Regional ATR's would be pushing their range on a Shannon to Paris service. So it's not immediately obvious who can step in and take up this route.
Aer Lingus could W an aircraft operating from Dublin or Cork to Paris, but probably not for the winter schedule already, and instead Aer Lingus will be very happy to sit back and see the healthy yields on the Cork to Paris route improve even further.
