Anyone Else

So far only 2 pfos? Any rated bods get a pfo yet?

Deep and fast 2nd Aug 2012 17:44

Good on monarch helping some of the bmi baby guys!

Mungo Man 2nd Aug 2012 18:31

I bet they spend a lot less than 5 minutes on each CV!

no sponsor 5th Aug 2012 09:44

I know a few of the Baby guys who were fast tracked into interviews by Monarch. I must say Monarch must be congratulated for saving the careers of those individuals and seeking out experienced F/Os. Well done Monarch!:D

1000ft Cruiser 5th Aug 2012 12:30

Just had an email saying my application is "hold for interview".

3000 TT mostly on 737. No command time, no rating.

Good luck everyone else, hopefully you hear some news soon.

go around flaps15 5th Aug 2012 15:03

Good news for me aswell I got an email saying "hold for interview".

Good luck to everyone else.

Stick35 5th Aug 2012 15:41

So the bottomline is that you need airline experience. Here we go again...standing here with my bizz jet experience.
Really getting fed up with that narrowvision of companies.

fmgc 5th Aug 2012 17:32

Really getting fed up with that narrowvision of companies.
You say that as if you are owed a chance and a living.

I can empathise with you, many of us have struggled to get that first airline job and been in very frustrating situations and I can understand spiralling into a bad attitude that your comment would allay.

Pork chop express 6th Aug 2012 10:01

I think they are taking some Ex Mil guys? They won't have Airline experience so don't give up yet, you never know...:ok:

windshear-a-head 6th Aug 2012 12:14

Good news for me too, 5.3K TT with Airbus and Boeing ratings.

Noticed on the email it said for 2013/14 season, so is this recruitment to start at the end of next summer?

Good Luck :ok:

Stick35 6th Aug 2012 13:20

@pork

Tx but i think it is here an age vs experience issue.

Anyway, i dont want to moan, we will see what the future brings.
Perhaps a gulfstream job, 3 weeks on and 3 off, 10000$ a month, 500 h flying a year and a nice hot FA on board. :E

Good luck those who are invited.

mesh 6th Aug 2012 16:11

As a matter of interest what age v experience do you have, I have never known age to feature in our requirements

Stick35 6th Aug 2012 17:10

Hello mesh

I turned this year 36. I fly now almost 5 years, -+ 2000 on jet, -+ 2500 tt. My experience is in europe and outside europe. Im one of those guys who started late his training. I was 24. I can perfectly imagine that companies want more experience of an "older" guy.

Anyway, i dont want to drift off to much of topic.

Good luck to the others. :ok:

mesh 7th Aug 2012 11:29

Hang in there, when I joined I was 36 with a lot less experience than you. Age doesn,t come in to our recruiting requirements. Type rating, type of experience, CV etc do though.

Al Murdoch 7th Aug 2012 14:34

My application status has changed to "hold". Anyone got any info on what this actually means?

Jumbo2 7th Aug 2012 15:00

That means good news!

master_warning 7th Aug 2012 16:56

Good news here also - got the 'hold for interview' email on Sunday morning. Out of interest, what timescale do you guys think we're looking at for the 2013/14 requirement being worked out and getting the call to interview?

bucket_and_spade 7th Aug 2012 17:57

Looks like these emails are for courses starting in early 2013 at the earliest? Is that the gist?

Guessing they've filled the autumn courses this year. Anyone have a guesstimate of how many guys from the recent drive will be going through initial courses in 2012?

Still nothing this end - could be good or bad!

At least things seem to be moving - good news :O

woolyalan 7th Aug 2012 18:52

I've also got the good news.
My application status says 'hold' and the communication I've received states that I have been successful at the first stage of the application process and that they will be in touch 'soon'.

I'm guessing that 'hold' is the same as 'hold to interview'

Al Murdoch 7th Aug 2012 19:23

I only got an email saying that the status of my application had changed - nothing else. When I checked the application portal it just said "hold", so none the wiser really..
Well I'm sure it will all become clear in the end.

No_AP_no_AT_no_FD 8th Aug 2012 11:03

Same here

Hold for interview
Received earlier this week.

Superpilot 8th Aug 2012 11:27

Processing order?

I submitted my application at the end of the first day of opening but have still not heard anything. Just logged in to check and it's still stuck at "Active Application"

woskam 8th Aug 2012 12:40

Same here, Superpilot.

buzzc152 8th Aug 2012 13:21

Got 2 emails today, first saying the status has changed on my application the second saying 'successful at first stage of application'. My application now says only "hold".

2500tt, varied jet, TP & multi piston.

MrHorgy 8th Aug 2012 15:55

Mine too, yet I know of people who applied after me who have had e-mails.

frozenpilot 8th Aug 2012 16:10

I've been offered a 757 spot. Just wondered if any Monarch pilots could give me an idea of the working life, rosters, allowances a 757 driver gets with the Airline.

Any info and PM's welcome!

Thanks

Iver 9th Aug 2012 03:31

Great job! Enjoy the Boeing hotrod - there certainly aren't many remaining at Monarch. Is your current experience on a Boeing? I guess you would have likely been assigned an Airbus if you had that experience...

I thought Monarch were going all-Airbus soon? Probably in the next few years. Enjoy the standard yoke while you can!!!:}.

frozenpilot 9th Aug 2012 08:51

Yep current 757/767 with 3000 hours on type

spider_man 9th Aug 2012 10:40

I've been offered a 757 spot.
Congrats. When is your start date? Spring '13?

frozenpilot 9th Aug 2012 14:20

Thank you spiderman! It's for jan 13

LHRbound 9th Aug 2012 15:50

I have also been offered a start date of April '13 on the 320. I'm very happy and have found the whole process extremely professional. I am so happy that there are a few airlines still willing to give full time perm contracts.

I wish everyone luck and can assure you that the selection process was extremely fair and straight talking. Much as has been stated on here before the interview was about yourself, then some competency questions and also some tech questions.

Off to celebrate for the second night!

macgiollarua 10th Aug 2012 14:54

hi all
got two emails also....hold to interview

i'm 2300TT....1800 Biz jet

Fingers crossed:)

Mr Angry from Purley 10th Aug 2012 20:05

Frozen Pilot
You mean the sort of questions that should be asked at interview? :\

frozenpilot 11th Aug 2012 11:03

No Mr Angry, the questions were all asked at interview. But you won't get a more realistic idea of life on the line than asking a current 757 pilot will you?

Jaydubya 12th Aug 2012 13:54

Just received the two emails, application status now says hold.
4500TT
B737 classic & NG

Anonystude 12th Aug 2012 18:16

Was a difference between 'hold' and 'hold for interview' ever determined?

Skyward85 15th Aug 2012 10:58

What's the average length of time to hear the outcome of the interview?

mesh 15th Aug 2012 11:43

At the interview, to day later, to couple of weeks......depends upon which course you are on and your own circumstances

As an aside out of those given the nod so far 1/3 rd are type rated the other 2/3 ds are either CTC, military or other which I think is a great endorsement of the Monarch way!

Skyward85 15th Aug 2012 12:47

Thanks Mesh

747 Downind 15th Aug 2012 15:42

Also still waiting, I dont want to call as I know others are in same boat re 'active application' but nothing else. Just gonna have to be patient as really would like to work for Monarch. 3600TT, 2000 B737 (EFIS, mainly NG), 1400 on another jet (non Boeing/Airbus), early 30s male
Well done to those who got the nod, and good luck to those in the waiting boat!;)

And please lets keep this to just Monarch recruiting please,

If you want to discuss other matters then why not create a new thread like:
1) I dont like Monarch
2) Monarch vs Easyjet
3) I dont like Easyjet

But for the guys on here we clearly want to work for Monarch, and just like to discuss the thread in question
Safe flying guys!:)
