Will I be wasting my time if I were to go for the interview this coming 16thAug? ('cos I actually have classes that day; will probably be skipping them should I go for the interview.)
Might as well just withdraw your application now. Stop wasting the time of those who are processing your application.
During the course of your life as a cadet, then a second officer and finally a first officer, there will be repeated assaults on your senses (if ever you are selected), along the lines of "why am I doing this?" or "why am I here?"
But instead of appreciating the chance of coming for an interview, you are instead asking "will I be wasting my time?".
It is clear that you don't have the resolve to complete flying school, let alone show up for an interview.
Don't waste your time.

Hi thanks for your reply Thermal Image
Perhaps I wasnt explicit enough as when I typed "wasting time" it actually implies wasting a "chance" as I believe somewhere in this thread, there is a mention of "two-shots" at the 1st round of interview before being "barred/blacklisted". Hence I would like to make sure that I've cleared the "minimum" requirement (age in this case) and could give it my best shot at the very first try, instead of being shown the door due to an admin(?) oversight.

This is taken way of out context i believe as nowhere in my first post did i suggest anything along the lines of "why am I doing this/why am I here?". I KNOW why I am doing this and I know why I will be there.
As a senior member, I guess it is easy to jump onto newbies and there exists a higher tendency to breach tolerance thresholds esp when one deem the maiden post to be "frivolous" or "non-appreciative". However I would like to assure you I do not belong to those categories.
Having said that, it's your point of view and I appreciate that (along with all ur helpful posts in this thread so far) as this could possibly be the image I might be unknowingly project to the interviewers and I will take the necessary extra precaution not to let it happen.
Lastly, I did consider other alternatives like calling them personally, but I chose to post my query in the forum first as I thought there are some tech crew from SIA participating over here whom I hope could shed some light on the current min age issue.
Cheers

Something afoot in MCY???
Started WW III with that message that things are bad?
What is exactly going on there? Is whatever that's happening there causing the backlog of cadets waiting for Learjet, or processing of new cadets?
Anyone can shed some light on this, either here or via PM?
Thanks.

SST77: Apparently some lears went U/S and some instructors left, all happening around the same time... Over at YPJT, bad WX is pushing the schedules back, I know some guys who were there since Jan and only just finished P2...

Hello guys !
I'm from Switzerland, and I really do love Singapore, and its national airline of course.
I tried to apply there 2 years ago, but I have no PR neither a Citizenship so they rejected me. (I think, as they didn't replied)
A little be nostalgic
So I just wanted to say you "good luck" for your applications to SIA lah!
(aah, Do you know if SIA will hire some direct-entry pilots in the future ?
Because I expect to settle in Singapore as soon as I can. (this means in 4 or 5 years actually..)
Bye bye!

Hi everyone, really nice place here to gather informations about aviation.
Just sent out my application online today, been hesitating for weeks or even months as i am only 24 this year, but i went for Airforce airgrading during my NS time. Only after reading through tons of posts here was i confident enough to submit my application, only because i went for airgrading before.
One question though is that throughout the online application, i was not required to mention anything about my airgrading experience, will they still be able to know that?
Thanks and best regards!
Edmund

Hi cire07,
Since its one of the main criteria if i am going to be even shortlisted for my age, i am just thinking, how will they know? Since in no part of the online application was i required to fill in.
Really inspire to fly, hope to get their reply soon

Short essay ?
Hi Jgan7
I not aware there will be a short essay. From few years ago thread, someone mention that the 2nd interview take 2 days which include a short essay qn "Why you want to become a pilot". From SIA email, it only mention that there is only aptitude test, briefing, final interview cum tea party, all in 1 day. But nothing is impossible, so don't be suprise if there is any.

There is a short essay...

"The day starts early at about 9am with 10 of us gathered in a conference room. We were then told to write a short essay consisting of not more than 50 words."
