It would not be good to share the source around...
But will post updates when it becomes available, I understand how hard it is to fly in SG especially. Btw the USD$133,000 for mpl was for the initial batch of 6 as a trail only, as of now estimated cost should be from USD$150,000.
While most of us is considering MPL and its cost, those guys have the courage to dive into it and thus they got away with lower training costs.
Cheers

So how sure are you that this is the only batch for the backlog or there r a couple of more as v guess they had been out to conduct interviews and some of them had passed all or is it that they just prefer to take locals now

The fact that they are planning to host a round of interviews shows that backlogs figures should be low. And at airlines they like to oversold, similarly applied; you have to considered prospective cadets giving up their slots due to:
Lastly, would like to advise that the current batch that just went to aussieland, out of say 10 cadets, 9 hold degrees. Majority of degree holders is from nus and ntu with engineering degrees. Remaining minority is poly grad (only 1) and others holding finance degrees.
Hope it helps, if you fit the criteria, revise for your first and final interview according to info here at pprune, be presentable and well spoken; then your chances of making it is very high!!
Wishing everyone all the best =)!!
- Found a job in the meantime
- Change their mind
- Couldn't furnish additional documents required
- Did not complete education as planned
- and all sorts of reasons

Not necessarily. Most importantly is that the candidate must know what he's talking about in the interview. I've seen a few degree holders who made an absolute joke of themselves. One of them claimed to be passionate about the industry, but can't even tell what's the engine used on SQ's 777.
Once you're called up for interview, make sure you do your homework THOROUGHLY. Study the company, fleet, management, routes, development in the industry, principles of flight... etc etc etc. You need to convince them why they should spend $$$ to train you and eventually let you have the control of $300m jet with 400 souls at the back.
Good luck.

Not necessarily, tiger numbers are roughly expected to remain the same. But with two providers they will have to vie for a piece of the pie. This maybe good as competition will hopefully bring costs down.
Look at their assessment fee, $200 and $400 for STAA and OAA respectively. 300-400people applied and only under 10 get selected. It's good money !!
But finally the announce the temasek poly thing, looks like tp want a piece of the lucrative pilot training market ! It should be a win win situation for singaporean cadets as it allows you to live in singapore with your parents, and lastly provide cheap canteen food with lots of babes
