Are you sure? The bandwidth of the transmitted signal is about 6kHz and a reasonably modern 25kHz radio would not interfere with the adjacent .833 channels.

According to the AIP it's French only outside ATC hours. Indeed, every time I have been there during ATC hours they have spoken perfect English.

Incidently, it's a 30/35 minute walk to the station...
