There is no FAA Reg on the amount of hours, only on the subjects to be covered. Maybe the school has a minimum wrote into their insurance policy.

In the states it is the same, alot of FAA regs stateing sole manipulator of the controls logging PIC time so i guess you can log what ever you want but in a job interview like FED EX or Alaska...

I also think the seniority system is fine. Except there should be a way a experienced Captain for one commuter should be able to go work for another with out being paid the same as a 700 hr flight...
