The salary is what is referred to as a Lifestyle Salary. They pay you a mediocre salary because the lifestyle here is so good. You'll live a comfortable existence but nothing special.

Where I work we have a watch system and have a 6 / 4 cycle.

2 mornings 7am-3pm followed by;
2 afternoons 3pm-11pm and lastly;
2 nights 11pm-7am.

Likewise, I'm at an adjacent ACC unit and have to agree to disagree. The region has some very complex enroute airspace, and I certainly would not put APP ahead of ACC, nor the other way around....
