I'd say London Control is the best ATC simulation you can get, SSS the best freeware.

If you want to talk to real people, VATSIM and IVAO should be your choice, which of the two depends on...

They certainly have been working properly when they "magically" changed the staffing numbers at Munich from "120 too many" to "120 too few" within a few weeks... :rolleyes:...

DFS maintains UACs in Karlsruhe and Munich, Bremen and Langen only have ACC and APP.
North-western German upper airspace is controlled by Eurocontrol at Maastricht.

Says for all airports for all departures the frequency with "After Take-Off Contact" - for Munich the note to remain on tower frequency.

Note these are the official DFS...

I am not sure how it is done in the UK (and it is certainly wayyy different in the US, especially in regards to phraseology), but in Germany you indeed do switch frequency immediately after departure...
