Ah okay thank you. Makes sense I suppose given the amount of applicants they must have had. Atleast they're providing updates - other programmes run on radio silence!

Hey guys. Long term lurker here whose sat in the shadows until now 
I'm in the running for both programmes so thought it might be pertinent to join seeing as people are starting to get Class 1's booked in... I spoke with LE about the EASA Class 1 and they informed me, as a non EU-resident, that when asked, they like to have Copenhagen as your state representative. I've never been through an EASA Class 1 but I am a CAA C1 holder, so if you have any questions about the process feel free to ask.
It might be worth getting in touch with LE to 100% confirm what I've said, but that's what I was told when I called.

there is another fully funded ATPL cadet program by Pilot Scholarship for UK and EU citizens, this is their website is pilotscholarship.co.uk there seems to be a lot of opportunities out there, I suppose the demands for pilots reached a high point.

I had a look on their website but it looks pretty dodgy to me. No real information on the course, socials all point to sky news, membership says 20% discount on class 1 medical, which I don't think is possible... didn't seem kosher to me but maybe I'm being overly cautious 🤷♂️

I'm currently holding an EASA PPL and will soon be getting a UK CAA PPL issued as I had previously transferred it out.
I have no additional ratings, except for the fact that I have just finished the EASA ATPL exams. I'm highly considering doing the CAA ATPL exams while the knowledge is still fresh. Then I can decide between finishing the MEIR and CPL in the UK or Europe.
I am an EU citizen holding the right to live in the UK and am at a crossroads. Do the CAA exams and finish off my ATPL in the UK and look at joining something like TUI or Easyjet? Or finish off flight training here in Europe? I was considering Ryan Air, but don't want to pay €30,000 for the type rating. If there's an agreement to validate EU licenses, how long do you expect it to take?

"By becoming a member of our programme, your financial contribution goes towards the scholarship fund." ...... let's see, 3000 applicants at £20 each, £60000.... I don't think they are going to make it even wth those numbers

Maybe I'm losing the plot, but I didn't see the course details page when I looked at it the last couple of times.
Maybe I missed it, but it seems even more "sus" now... it's not your page is it FuA380? lol
I'd just be careful. For all their faults, one of the advantages of working directly with one of the big schools is that it's clear from the outset they have a strippy jumper and balaclava on, but atleast they'll only really shaft you when sh*t hit's the fan. The pilot scholarship website just screams *scam* to me

yeah I see what you mean about socials, must be an error, but on the website there’s a page on course details which mentions how the scholarship receipt will attend L3Harris Flight school. I’ve emailed them for more information, and they replied saying how the membership is one of the ways they raise funds for scholarship awards, alongside their corporate sponsors, and that’s why the only offers scholarship to members who contributed.

Does anyone know with regards to the TUI application... Can you have passed your ATPL exams already or does it all have to be undertaken on the course itself?

On the home page "training programme designed to take you from no flying experience to a fully qualified airline pilot in 18 month." Not only should month be months, no training program is turning you into a fully qualified airline pilot. CPL route makes you a qualified commercial pilot and the MPL route qualifies "you to act as a co-pilot in an aeroplane required to be operated with a co-pilot for commercial air transport".

Hi All, I've only just stumbled across the TUI cadet programme, saying applications may reopen in 6 weeks 🤞🏾. I was considering applying for the Leading Edge Programme back in December before the TUI one was announced, but decided against it due to the cost of the application stages. I am currently on a gap year with an offer from Uni of Southampton for aerospace engineering, but have also always wanted to be a pilot. Stuck being indecisive, I do Hope TUI reopens their applications though as I'd have nothing to lose applying for their programme

I say the above from the pessimistic view of that will help you a lot if there's a downturn and you need to pass the time for a bit between airline jobs, but it can never hurt to have something extra on your CV - and aerospace engineering is a big extra; I can confirm engineering is challenging and tends to afford respect from employers!
In any case it's up to you and I imagine there will be plenty of people who disagree with me about the benefit of that degree, but just figured I'd add it incase it helps with the indecisiveness.

Engineering not only provides an amazing back up career but it also puts you in good stead when applying to be a pilot. Your ability to fly a plane is taken as granted by airlines when you apply for them (particularly after training) and so increasingly they are looking for future captains in their candidates who show good leadership traits. Experience in the industry will enable you to build these skills.
It will also set you up for a well paid career after graduating incase sponsorships cease and you need to pay for piloting yourself. Even with sponsorship schemes available, competition is fierce and you will need to be set apart. Taybee is right, airlines will look at it favourably!
Not that you can’t apply to these schemes and see how you get on, but don’t neglect considering an engineering degree especially at Southampton which is a great uni for it! I was in a similar position to you and couldn’t wait to begin training when I finished sixth form - but someone gave me similar advice on how doing an engineering degree would be wise, and I still look back being thankful that I did.

anyway, fast forward, I’ve just got onto my first year course, I’m halfway through it. I’m doing it because I had too, the only subject I ever enjoyed doing was maths. So that’s what I’ve gone and done. Little to my knowledge, I hadn’t really heard much about skyborne and l3, and how their courses now are only around 100,000; and you can get about 40k knocked off. Anyway, I was on flight sim a few months ago and my mum comes up to watch me, she says do you really want to do this flying. I said to be honest, yes trying to hold back emotion because all I do is dream about being a pilot.
so, we have a talk, she says well let’s be serious and get it sorted . She’s happy to remortgage/sell her second house - we only need £60,000.
i now have a confirmed place at an ATO on an integrated program, and couldn’t be happier.
my advice for you is, only you know what you really want to do. People have different hurdles, mine was the funding, but I sat with my mum and we talked about it. Figure out what your hurdles are, and try and talk and overcome them.
I’m not going to lie, having a degree is a good thing, a lot of the ATO’s offer degrees with their course, so why would I continue with the Bsc in Maths. I’m not motivated enough; I knew either way, no matter what age I’d always aim to be a pilot, I’d have to use inheritance. Knowing all I wanted to do was become a pilot, made me so unmotivated to do a Bsc degree in something other that pilot training.
anyway bro, do what you gotta do - a lot of people say go get a degree in whatever it’ll look good - of course it will, but for people like us who aspire to be pilots it’s different. A huge part of uni is motivation to study, and passion for the subject - If you don’t have it, you will fall back.
