Just a bit worried on the progress of the Offensive.
Some thoughts: I hope that the definition of the potato resolution video in post 1948 is from the recorder doing the filming and not the quality that the gunner operators are seeing! I sincerely hope that the NGV / night targeting systems are doing damage through the night ops. The alleged Western tech level should be far superior - not withstanding - the many kilometers of range advantage. I have seen the Satellite (before and after), photos of the Russian defense lines and the post sort of hinted that it was because of these it was the reason the Offensive was going slower than expected. IMO, with the sat tech of the West, these defense lines would have been well known and very up to date, even on an hourly basis [In this war situation, it is very expensive to move an imagining sat to preferred locations. It can be done and one would assume at this level of world war importance, I daresay that a few imaging sats have been moved right over Ukraine to provide virtually live coverage. Used most if not all their altitude/attitude fuel to move to the 'new' location - so expendable in the very near future - Ukraine will be footing the bill no doubt]. I don't mean to be an armchair general, so I hope that the seemingly slow offensive is due to other operations being controlled by people much more intelligent on these things than I am. And how many tanks does Russia have left? Early prewar estimates were 6,000 (not sure if that was the number of combat ready tanks), so the numbers now are close to 3,000. With the rate of social media videos, it looks like tanks and other stuff are being taken out daily, they (Russia), won't have any left in a year. Looking at the offensive as of now, it is probably very difficult to move a 'column' of Armour - without going in a straight line - due to the apparently humongous number of mines that have been placed. It amazes me that there are factories around the world (East, West, North, South), still producing these. They should be out lawed, as in the same vein of Nuclear Disarmament. I believe that in some places like Vietnam, farmers are still paying the price. As for the economic damage, I believe that Russia (as according to many YT bloggers), will seriously run out of funds in about November/December. One YouTube person I watch is called Joe Bloggs. War of attrition (men/vehicles), losses on one side and the 'behind cancer', of economic collapse on the other side, being brought about by the mighty West. How on earth can Russia win this war? I am not for Russia to collapse. It needs to be weakened enough to pull out of Ukraine. It needs a leader change that accepts that invading country's to 'bring back the old times', is not feasible in today's world. Russia should be brought back into the 'fold' and work with everybody else as it did when it is making huge profits from gas and oil and its interests in Africa and so on - leave war out of it! Putin (or the cronies that support him), hopefully will realise that invading/war it is not doable anymore, for anyone/country in this 20th century global economic environment. |
An alternative view.
If Russia is able to be brought back and replenishes its weapons, when will the next invasion (Special Operation) restart? None of the replenished Russian economy and funds will ever be given to Ukraine in compensation, or for reconstruction. The West knows this and is taking steps to have a reconstruction strategy. The record of Russian Leadership considering logical consequences to decide not to proceed with a "Special Operation" has no legs with current or future Leadership candidates. There is no doubt to me that Russia must be totally defeated to the point that they are a small country, with a moderate income.and every country, East and West of the Urals, adopting independence. Then I will be more confident of a more lasting peace. IG |
Under the heading of; you couldn't make this stuff up, I hear the Pres of South Africa bumbled onto the scene to offer his 2 cents worth on ending unpleasantries. His nib's dignity was slightly impaired however when Poland and then Hungary told his delegation and security detail to push off home while en route, duly followed by his fellow BRICS-ites dropping missiles on Kyiv while he was there :}.
Given that RSA has studiously avoided condemning Cmrd Putrid and his goons for invading a neighbour AND has been accused of supplying the Russians with arms, I'm only surprised that Ukraine bothered to answer the door. |
Another short lived job?
a car with a Russian-appointed assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Zaporizhzhia region, Vladimir Epifanov, exploded. |
Real combat operations.. Ukrainians enter a Russia trench and start to clear it.
BEWARE YOU WILL SEE PEOPLE GETTING KILLED, so only a link if you wish to view. |

The remains of the railhead in Rykove which was the big ammo dump explosion a few days ago.

My only concern is with the first victim. The way he comes out he's got his hands in front of him and obviously not holding a gun. My take is that he wanted to give himself up!

Russia tries to talk their way out of the diseases such a Cholera their troops are now facing after they blew the dam up, bly blaming Mosquito carrying UAV's

Totally and utterly agree, no Russian terms. If Russia wants peace and an end to the war, the path is clear.. cross back into Russia from all parts of Ukraine and stay there.

Remember several months ago we had those Russians in a courtyard surrender and the last one out came guns blazing and killed some of the Ukrainians accepting their surrender. Erm.. sorry about the English text swear words, hopefully they carried a swear jar to put the odd coin in, rather strange that you worry about the odd swear word when people are being killed.. or were you being cynical? |

It was a fortified position and by accounts on Twitter it was a Special Forces operation behind enemy lines.
INMHO The Russians heard shooting and were running to their firing positions, they were then eliminated. If they had of been surrendering they would have been shouting "We surrender" and would not have been running towards them. They had bad skills and were taken out. |
Ukranians arguing with a Russian on a bus in Mariupol, the last line said to him sums up his situation perfectly.... language used.
