Actually that graphic neatly highlights what is up for grabs for Russia in Ukraine in terms of arable land. Russia really is poorly provided for given its overall size.
I'm not sure a tactical nuke or two would have much impact on this; their effects would be very much localised (obviously depending on their yields, ground or air-burst etc). Also, I assume a good portion of this was previously contaminated by Chernobyl, with little long term consequence (one hopes..). As far as being up for grabs, Russia was an importer of tech, steel, and food from Ukraine, and they go and attack them. D'oh. The Russians always have dirt to eat. Kazakhstan is a major agriculture country, behind Russia but still impressive. Of course, Kazakhs seem to have had their fill of Putin. Belarus is also a major food producer, and their current sychophantic dear leader, the last dictator of Europe by his own description, has managed to get a popularity of 15% or lower. His slavish obsequiousness to Vlad is impressive, will be looking shaky when Vlad has an accident cleaning windows or when his car suffers from smoking. |

FDR I posted a link a while back showing what crops are grown where in Russia and hence a nuke on Ukraine would irradiate their own food production, not a good idea.
Remember this, the ONLY area that posted to leave Ukraine was Sevastopol which as it is Russian Military, it would, and 54% of Crimea voted to remain in Ukraine, that's Brexit numbers. So there is no need for fake Referendum's https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....a964145fd3.png |

Arable land is a plus +
Oil and gas reserves a plus each ++ Industrial heartland in Donbas + Recreation of mythical Novorussiya + Control of Black Sea + Added land barrier before Moscow + The more the merrier. Just a shame about a few |

I seriously hope they can fix this, he does not deserve that
This is the price of Russia's captivity. Released Mariupol defender Mykhailo "the Pianist" Dianov's arm needs urgent surgeries after Russia gave him zero to no medical care he so badly needed. Hmmmmm...
I think, that the western countries shall immediately expell all children of Russian oligarchs and Duma members, so they are available for mobilisation, which their fathers voted for |
BBC News channel ...
Russia's defence ministry has revealed a host of occupations that will be exempted from conscription aimed at boosting its war effort in Ukraine. IT workers, bankers and journalists working for state media will escape the "partial mobilisation" announced by President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. = look after our money and keep spreading the lies. |

Thought they’d used those up on the Luhansk press-ganged conscripts. Wonder how many they have in stock - and who all the AK-47s/74s got sold off too…
Russian conscripts get Nagant/Mosin rifles, designed in 1890/91, and obsolete already at the times of WWII. |

Any use of a nuke is a red line, and you cannot let that slide period!
I wish people would stop using the word “Tactical” as if a “Tactical” nuclear weapon is ok, it’s a nuke period, and any nuclear weapon, regardless of size is NOT acceptable in any shape or form. THE ONLY RESPONSE IS A NUCLEAR RESPONSE, People who think as you do are the ones who will start World War III. Preventing World War III is in the interest of mankind. Thankfully, some of our other contributors have explained the details.

I do not believe that they need a declaration to understand that they are at war, nor have they needed one since about 24 February 2022. |

Russian conscripts get Nagant/Mosin rifles, designed in 1890/91, and obsolete already at the times of WWII. They do have a big drawback in that they have a ferocious muzzle blast, so not ideal on a modern (one side at least) battlefield. |
