Caption Competition Mk II
You certainly were fast off the mark. I felt like I got an entire history lesson when I saw it in the museum (not my photo, of course).
A couple I had in mind: "No, you can’t have it back for the Continuation War. You said you were Finnish."
And a more “original” pun: "They say our base was recaptured from a Ukrainian unit. That would explain why we keep landing on –ski’s".
But on to the actually funny captions:
c52 made me laugh with:
"Why is the cowling set forwards like that? Excellent question! Well, it's a rather nifty way of changing the trim. We just slide the whole motor region forwards and backwards."
And Wensleydale took second with:
Brian regretted asking for his new Gladiator to be painted in a Metallic Finnish.
But to my mind, Treadigraph took it home with:
What is it? No idea but it certainly adds a certain Gloster the place...
The trophy is winging its way east as we speak. Hope there's snow on the ground when it has to land.

Please people putting up images, Pleeease put up images where there are people, preferably several or on the phone etc or even in and around aircraft, so people entering have a chance to put up captions, some of the entries of late have been hard to caption as a simple object in itself isn't very captionable...
