There was a disappointing turn of events for the attempt on the self powered flight record today. The failure of Red Bull to "give him wings" led to the deployment of his parachute.

Lt Col "Bubber" Klondike USAF demonstrates that ejection from an aircraft isn't intrinsically dangerous ... it's just the 200g stop that hurts ... on this occasion he experienced a major failure of his a$$ cushion ... which can just be seen to his right in the pic
