BAcrewboy,

you will be protected by the company from any b&h. The bat is in ba's hand, when the dust settles I'm not sure there will be anybody to bully you!

With respect bassa are the quickest route to a disciplinary!

Looking forward to working with you.

Assuming you are sincere ,expect to hear more over the coming days reference bullying and harassment. Believe you me, BASSA supporters will be doing the company a favor if they dare mention strike action and the "s" word(which is banned on this forum and quite rightly so) to attempt to intimidate anyone inside or outside work, because quite simply they will be suspended without pay

BACrewboy,

Don't worry about coming in to work. I am absolutely certainly BA will have plenty of protection in force for those of you who want to work.

I'm sure you've not had a chance to wade through the postings on this thread, but I can assure you the feeling is against BASSA, not the Cabin Crew.

Also, i guess that BA would quickly cancel most short-haul sectors during the period, and concentrate on long-haul. In that case, does anyone know if there would be the opportunity for me to train to do some long-haul sectors?

Bassa Bullying

My concern is for crew downroute.
You could get Bassa militants staying at the crew hotels making life "difficult"

If they don't harass then while it's high profile they will wait.

Thanks for the replies - it's nice to know that the public and the flight crew are not out against CC as a whole. I am so pleased that I have joined this forum to be able to speak freely without fear of reprisal from my colleagues.

You've already got a 767 licence, start reading up on Dar-es-Salaam, practice your Hebrew and pack your skis. There'll be plenty for you to do if the short-haul operation gets cancelled.

Don't worry about potential bullying. If you are no longer a member of either Union then you have every right to work! There were plenty who came to work last time and suffered no ill-consequence; Eurofleet is a lot less hardcore than WW anyway. I think this time you'll be in good and plentiful company.

617,

There's always the option of booking a different hotel downroute... Just a thought that the managers may or may not have plans for

front to back or back to front

I don't have the concentration to go back and read the recent/all posts.................are B.A. inviting ground staff to fill striking cabin crew positions? I came across a very interesting idea today on an old gits site, nothing to do with any of this but the proposition was to get retired pilots to become temp cabin crew...........tennis again in Singapore...............suit you sir .........(there are lots of us out here)

first course

A conflict of interest I would say! Your choice though.

I am just wondering if any of the Leadership Team will be volunteering? It would be nice to see Willie leading from the front on the first SEP course. If it was tricky dicky pickle, he would have the press photographers at the bottom of the 747 slide to capture his first descent!

The point is, if you're not in the union, you have to work. You won't be breaking any strike, because you would have no legal right to strike. So no-one can accuse you of breaking it.

I would say to anyone worried about or experiencing harassment down route/on board - just make a call to your skipper. I think you will be surprised just how much support you will get. BASSA would love to paint us 'Flight Deck' as the enemy, in fact almost every discussion I've had on the flight deck has followed the lines of 'we have some great crew, what a shame they are led by a bunch of self-serving muppets'.

617sqn,

I hope some b&h happens in my hotel, it will just take a couple of idiots to start it and I think you'll see a rather large iron fist deployed! Given we are at defcon 1 I'm guesing your manager will be flown out to see you if b&h is your crime. Anybody know what will happen of Ba hold a disciplinary down route? Free hotel and travel home if dismissed?

the game has changed! Bassa is destroyed, they just haven't realized it yet. the industry will provide the replacements required and BA will spend as required to get the new recruits on line asap. The t&c's will be market leading, still, and cc will demand new and better representation.

The simple facts are that whilst it takes years to get the finished product we can get the legal one in weeks! Really how long to replace 4000 crew, if that many fall in their swords, given the glut of already trained cc without jobs within the EU? Customer service training can be done later, our customers/guests (, gg I'm getting it) will forgive most things, just not being stranded!

Looking forward to it, will I finally get a commision slip?

Sorry to be thick the Heavy Heavy, but what is DEFCON? Google gives strange references to hackers which doesn't seem relevant.

Of course you'll get a commission slip, but only if you get out in the cabin and sell, sell, sell!

DEFCON

DEFCON = Defence Condition. It's a Pentagon military numerical scale (1 - 5 usually). DEFCON5 is "Peace and Harmony", DEFCON1 usually means troops are being engaged.
