Start Date and contract

Hi Gloria,

I think that you should phone him again, or speak to anyone in the recruitment department and just mention that you have not yet received the email with contract and job offer etc.

They are extremely busy over there, recruiting hundreds of new crew from all over the world. It would be very easy to lose track of who has been sent what. They won't disapprove of you reminding them, rather they will probably appreciate it as it may have just slipped through with all of the demanding work that they are already having to do.

Just call again and mention that you were told that the contract would be sent, and to date, it hasn't arrived. Confirm your e-mail address with them too and ask when they expect to send it to you. I'm sure you'll find that they will get onto it asap.

Samara.

Don't worry about the short notice to go. Keep up the email pressure for a date and get that first. The eticket will follow sometimes as close as 11 hrs before departure....has happened to many a pilot from downunder as well.

This is just normal Etihd procedure last minute everything.

But you get used to it.

China flights in Mar 08'.

About the ETIHAD job interview

Hi, everybody! First of all I want to apologize for my English! My name is Alina, I am from ROMANIA, Timisoara.
I applied for a flight attendant job, via internet. Last Friday I was at my first interview that was held in Brasov, because everything here is done via a recruiting agency. I passed and they called me Sunday, December 2nd, at my second interview with the ETIHAD people.
There are a total of 110 people that are posted on the site of the recruiting agency, that are due to come on the 1st and 2nd of December. 70 people on the first lot, and 40 on the second one!!!
It was explained to me by the man from the recruiting agency that the second interview will consist in 5 different tests, all of them eliminatory, and, as I understood we will be told in a few days if we are employed or not! And also that we will have to do the medical exams. If you pass, of course!!!
My problem is that I am trying, very hard, to find someone who already works for them to try to understand what is going on after you get there.
There are 6 weeks of training! Is it hard? How do they treat you?
I would very much appreciate an answer!!!
Please!!! thank you!!!

Alina,
I'll tell u what I know. I'm due to join at the 9th of dec, so it's not a firsthand story... I've been reading several swedishs girls diaries on the net (I'd provide the link for u 2 read it urself, but it's in swedish).
As I know there will be 6 weeks of training. HARD weeks with studies 7-22 5 days a week. Alot 2 memorise... There is 3 parts in the training; safety, medical and service. There will be several tests and if u fail (under 80% correct) u will have 2 retake that part without pay. After passing there will be a graduation ceremony and off we go! First there's 2 flights where u just observe, and then the normal work starts. The roster seems 2 be pretty varied, with both lang-haul and turnovers... Work abt 15-20 days per month.
Hmm.. What else? Oh, accomadation will be provided by the company. During training in a hotel and then later in shared apts...
Salary is good, not so good during training though. But enough 2 survive.
Grooming is strict during training and working.... There seem 2 be abt 1000 rules abt makeup and clothes, but they will give u the information in the interview.
Flight attendants are also treated as VIP in Abu Dhabi with discounts and so on...
Anything else ur wondering abt?

Everyone, feel free 2 correct me if I'm wrong abt smthn!

Post mido...::::...sylvestria

one thing for all, the accommodation is for 2 weeks during the training no more after that you have to find your own accommodation or with any group of flight attendant that is what i know
good luck for every one salam.

Nope, accomadation is during the whole contract. Or, if u choose 2 take the allowance instead. This is for all CC in Etihad. (It's in the contract btw).

Thanks everybody! This is very helpful!!! the thing is that I have the impression that I'm making a lot of noise for nothing! I mean - I may not make it trough the final interview!!! But I would like to be ready for it if it happens!!! You know - prepare for the worst and hope for the best!!!

I have no idea if this is an open day or not! Sorry Bogdanko! I was first to a interview with the recruitment agency and they called me for the final interview on the 2nd of December! Sorry!!!

I have other questions!!!
During the training weeks - what kind of clothes do we need? bussines? casual? And the salary will be....? Because the people from the recruitment agency told me that ETIHAD will provide accommodation and meals!!! So I can't imagine on what I will spend my money!!!
I hope I'm not writing stupid things but these are the info that I received from them!

Hey Peeps..
Just dropping by...i'm leaving on December 16th as well (same as alot of ppl) We'll probably get our visa/tickets a few days before. Many people who left to AUH last month moved in to permanent apt's instead of staying in hotels....

See you guys there...

Hi there!
So, Bogdanko, the interview that I'm going at takes place in BRASOV, that is a town situated in the Carpati Mountains, to a good distance from Bucuresti.
There is a first lot of people that are being interviewed today, December 1st. I'm going to be interviewed tomorrow December 2nd.
From what country are you? Do you think about coming there? Because I think that are coming only people that were called by the recruitment agency!
But, hey, who am I to tell you not to come if that's what you want to do?! Sorry that i haven't answered you sooner but I had some connection problems on the internet!!!

Thanks Sylvestria for your reply!!!It's very helpful!!!

I will write again Monday night or Tuesday, depending on the day that I'm returning home from Brasov! Because there is a 8-9 hours trip from where I live to Brasov!!! I will get there completely exhausted but I'm hoping that my mind will resist and make the best of it!!!

So I will be back with news about the final interview!!! Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!

thanks
