Hope someone here can help me... I got yesterday an email telling that I've been accepted to Etihad! I already yesterday sent back the signed employment offer by email (scanned the papers). It's been 24 hrs and I haven't got any reply. How long has it taken with you guys? I know that I probably just have to be more patient. I'm just really nervous and hoping that everything runs smoothly.

Smile Two questions - from jane

Hi everyone,

I'd love it if someone could kindly answer these questions...I see many others are desperate to know things and if I get the job I am sure I will answer you in return!

1. If you have recieved the email saying 'we will continue to process your application...approvals and clearances' How long until they call or contact you again to start medicals? or is this just a well done for doing the assessment day and we might be in contact kind of thing?

2. I am aware you have to do a PAP SMEAR

- I have CIN 1 which is abnormal but not a big deal. It can eventually progress into something but really shouldn't matter right? I don't know though - does this make a difference??? Ahh im really worried about giving them those details.

please help...thanks guys.

from Jane

Ey Lifestyle

Hi all,
What is the accommodation like in AUH? I am going to apply and am wandering if its reasonable as I hear QR offer pretty bad places. I am not so sure about AUH either, all I know is that it is the richest city in the world in terms of people and wealth according to a CNN report. I am thinking it is similar to DXB?

Also sorry about these questions but what is EY like as a company, I know the CEO is an Australian so cant be all bad!

X

Danger Airbus slams into wall

Paris - Nine people were injured, three of them seriously, when an Airbus A340-600 carrying out a ground engine test slammed into a wall, a spokesperson for Airbus said Friday.

The accident occurred late on Thursday on property belonging to Airbus, in the southern French city of Toulouse, and was apparently caused by a faulty brake.

The aircraft was to have been delivered to Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, in a few days. - Sapa-DPA

hehe, indeed it does not seem to make any sense @ all: I am european, but live in bahrain and same for me: no need to do medicals or security clearance. less then 2 weeks after the interview they just called me and sent the contract: I was due to join 3 days later!! ( I had to wait to be released by my current employer though)
but no doubt we will have to go through medicals etc. once we get to AUH...

hey harry,
well i don t know what the exact reason is: I was only told not to do my medicals...
but at the final interview they gave us a list of the medicals: it is quite a bit: first just general stuff like height, weight, medical history.
then it also consists of a full teeth examination and they require 2 types of dental pictures.
further they require a chest X-ray, your eyes and ears need to be checked, there is a whole list of vaccinactions you need to have, you have to give a blood an urine sample, which they check on AIDS and other things.
this gives you a short overview of what the medical forms say...
good luck!
