political awareness

just prior to the commencement of the J/C breakfast yesterday I made it very clear to the CSM that I refused to give out the DANISH PASTRIES in protest over the cartoons!
you see- who said L/H f/as can't be politically aware and take DIRECT ACTION!
in the great faaa tradition of Johanna perhaps we could have a global NO DANISH PASTRY DAY onboard?

Here's a biggy for you all.....

There's a list getting about collecting signatures for a vote of no competence against the SH FAAA. The s/h guys are looking into some other union to take over the FAAA. The masses have had a gutful.

Times are a changin'.

Maybe they should approach the LH FAAA...or vice versa...now could be the time for a merger!

Bring it on.

Perhaps it would make things more difficult for darth dixon and his thugs to divide and conquer.

Isn't it nice to see the QF spin team back in operation?

Contracts

Hi

I was on an 11 month contract with QF Long Haul June 04 - May 05. Now on a short list which has been extended to April. Just wondering if anybody has heard anything at all re: getting called back..etc.

Also does anybody know if QF hired my Long Haul contractors after May last year???

Thanks

Contracts - Long Haul

Wow! I'm in shock! Midnight 63 any chance of more information...pleeeese...

Which training group was your friend in? Do they need to do a full initial training course again? As much info that you could provide would be so great! It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on ..Why do QF have to put us through this!!!

Sounds like bull!!!! to me

Grrr Qantas Cabin Crew EBA. Be Warned!!

I believe that if you don't bother voting for the next EBA, your lack of a vote is considered a yes vote. ie. In favour of the new EBA. This alledgedly happened at Ansett and also at the last EBA. Ever wondered why everyone you asked how they voted said they voted no or didn't vote yet the EBA got through? Make sure you vote either way!

Total bollocks! It never happened at ansett. Only the votes yes or no counted and the rest were considered abstainers..however never let the facts stand in the way of a good scaremongering post,

well said priapism.. one thing i really cant stand is morons who post urban legends. A failure to vote counting as a yes vote in any election other than perhaps IRAQ or ZIMBABWE is ludicrous.

Where to people get this !!!!e from????

CAPPING

just got my new roster, not bad but not fantastic it will have to do!
I was checking to see the SFO flight to see who was fortunate enough to get a look in, and its the usual lot.
What really annoyed me was the same names that kept on cropping up, one SFO wasn't enough for these selfish people, they had to get every single one they could.
Bring in block flying, I've had enough of this, the selfish top 10% get everything, how about spreading it around.
Then I had a look at the LAX flights and same thing there, if the hotel was so bad what are those people doing there all the time.
The seniority issue has to be addressed, whilst I do not believe we should get rid of it we have to work on something that is fair and equal, honestly some crew haven't seen anything but LAX for the last 8 years or longer.
Some have never ever been to JNB and some haven't even been to Europe since the bidding system began in 1988.
A capping on trips like the tech crew have would be ideal.

OCCR,

mate if it makes you feel any better we have the same in shorthaul. You have to be flying for quite a few years to get a HKG trip these days. For CSM's look towards 20yrs+. We have the same girls do the per returns everyday (ex-L/H) and rock returns for the ex TAA/Aust girls. We even have F/A's and CSM's who pattern bid to only work on a 737 (once again the ex-TAA girls). They are scared of flying the the "big" airplanes.
Pathetic. Some have NEVER been on an A330.

Maybe its time to pack it in!

Ok...not sure where i was going with this, just been knocking back my duty free from my NZ trip. WOW... i got an international.

Cool SENIORITY !!!

H-E-O-L-L-O !!!!!!.................
OCCR and SYD S/H its called a seniority/preferential bid system.
Its been in since 1988 if you don'y like it-LEAVE !!!!!....find a job @ Wendys.
The crew that got the SFO trips next BP were probably doing "crap trips" 10 years ago........thats the way it goes.
Who knows in 10 years time you might get the first SYD -Helsinki direct flight on the A-480 !!!!! (sic)

Web warped woop.....
Have a look at the people on ths SFO and the LAX direct I doubt that they would ever have had crap trips.( they have been seniors since 1988 when the system was introduced and before that they were able to "request" trips that they wanted, anyway there were hardly any crap trips then, so dont give me that they have done the hard bit as that is a load of crap!!!!!!!)
I agree with OCCR, its time something is done about the "preferential/Seniority" selfish its all about me system.
why should we leave! its time we made a change.
Whilst I too do not agree with abolishing the seniority system I do believe that some fundamental changes are needed.
I checked the lists as well and its true one SFO was not enough for these F/A,s they had to get as many as they could, plain and simple greed.
Its all about them and farrrrk the rest

I think a fair system would be to cap all destinations to two a roster. That would share around the popular ones, and make those who do nothing but the popular trips see 'the other side of flying'.

It would never allow the most junior of us to go to HNL/ SFO etc but would allow more people to go to these destinations.

Leave general bidding, days off, annual leave to be bidded on seniority .... thats fine.

But the point was made, when those who are currently gettin all the HNL's, SFO's, NRT's etc were junior (there was no bid system!), there was a hell of a lot more in the way of destinations, so therefore more variety for them -even as juniors.

12 months to go and counting.... back soon

" We have met the enemy - and he is us" - Pogo

Oh ,here we go again.
The same lame ass arguments by the disenfranchised ,disgruntled ,generation x minority who want it all NOW.

"Fresh" ideas on capping of trips etc

When will the penny drop for the knuckleheads that one has to work within the system ,not tear it down to the deriment of everyone else ?

My mate from the Okefenokee Swamp says it all .

Frank, you are very quick at knocking everyone. Looks like the pressure is starting to get to you. My guess is you have been in this game a long time and the rules are about to get changed on you. Take a break, learn the new rules and enjoy. They should have changed the rules years ago.
