Thank you so much for sharing this. I know it is not what we were hoping for, but it easier to move on with life and make better choices for ourselves with this information. I just hope that we won't need to reapply again, as the emails have said that we would need to reapply if it has been a year since the process. This has been such an emotionally gruelling process! I can only hope that something magically changes, but will get on with life nonetheless. Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope that you are enjoying flying.

Hi guy's,
Those of you that are interested i though id share some info. I've just had a trip with a manager whom does a lot of training of new recruits. He advised that there aren't any further ground schools planned this financial year due to budget restraints and the ground schools that were planned have been pushed back until the new financial year. Its never a quick recruitment process especially with QF International simply because of the massive numbers of applicants. I know it can get frustrating but the best advice is to hang in there. Recruitment do not have a contact number even for current staff. I can tell you that they will not confirm anything about possible future ground schools and when they might commence cause of how often these change. Good Luck

Hey girl
I also have got through the the assessment stage on 8 Oct in Auckland and my references have been contacted. Some of you in Australia have had emails stating active hold etc. I haven't had any communication at all. Is anyone else on this forum had the same situation.
I am in the same situation. Did AD in August 2016, have reference check etc. have had an email from Jetconnect in like November I think, saying to keep waiting, they haven't forgotten about me and that when jobs become available I'll be first to know. I don't think they have jobs available yet as they are still "accepting interest" if you go on their website. I just wish someone could tell me when they will because this waiting is driving me insane

Hi everyone and Happy New Year to you all..
Not the best news I heard this week about ground schools been postponed that were to go ahead early this year... Apparently they are busy finalising numbers for the 787 and there are quite a few domestic crew that want to go over to International aswell...
From what I was told, there will probably be ground schools starting in the later part of this year so lots of applicants still on active hold will have to re-apply... I will be one of them...
Things can change in this industry very quickly so I am hoping that we all don't expire and will get some good news soon...
Stay positive everyone and fingers crossed...

Based on what I have heard it doesn't look like there will be any ground schools for awhile however things change alot in this industry so fingers crossed all of us on "active hold" will not have to re-apply...

However, the email mentioned that "if any opportunities for future positions arise within the 12 month period since original application, we will be in touch",'"If 12 months passes before opportunities become available again, you will be requested to reapply."
That worries me a bit, but hopefully, everybody will go through all together eventually :-)
p.s is there anyone can clarify what does 'sing original application' mean? would be since online application? or since AD? I've asked once though email, but havn't heard yet.

Long time reader, first time poster - have read all 76 pages!
Do you think they're hiring "expressions of interest" for Sydney because there are no ground schools until after June? :/
Seems a long time when they're normally running them every few weeks or so
Mn64 - Have been reading your posts for so long and feel like I'm feeling your pain!

Nervous Wait
Hi everyone,
I've followed this thread since my application with Qantas Link in October last year. Reading about the application process for all Qantas positions and knowing that being placed on active hold is common, has helped to keep me sane
I am starting to feel a little tense now though after being sent my ASIC application in December and having completed it over a month ago. Everything is ticked off and yet I've heard nothing. Do you think contacting the team via email so see if there are any updates will help or hinder my application?

Qantas QCCA
Hey there
I interviewed for qcca back in June last year, I didn't hear from them for a couple weeks, which resulted me in phoning them to find out they lost my file, however I made it to reference checks to then finding out they couldn't progress me due to being 3 CM off the required height. I am wondering if anyone has had th same thing happen to tjem, or if maybe three cm isn't a huge deal and maybe someone else with more experience got in over me

Hey emily92 and everyone else! I applied in May last year. I had a very similar experience to you.
I attended an Assesment Day in September in Melbourne and was called a week later by recruitment to say that they were really impressed with me (I thought they were calling to say I was through to the next stage), but I was told I was too short. I was devastated.
I know my height, and I know that I am above 163cm, and would never have applied for the role if I was below! So I presumed that my height must have been incorrectly recorded at the Recruitment Day. I asked them for the height they had recorded for me, as I explained I was 100% sure I fit the height requirements. The lady that called me didn't have my height in front of her, which I thought was very strange?!
Anyway... they were phoning to offer me Qantas Link, and wanted me to fly back to Melbourne the following week, after just being there to attend QCCA interview. (I lived in Adelaide), I declined the offer.
I then appealed my height, I went to my doctor and got her to measure me and sent them a letter from her stating my height (which is in fact 164.5cm). I emailed recruitment this. After two weeks I received a phone call from a lovely lady stating that they were going to reconsider my application and contact my references that afternoon, which they did. She stated that the height that would be recorded at my medical would be the height they would go by (which I agreed to, as I know I am tall enough!)
I am currently on Active Hold with them, so have not had the chance to have a medical as of yet. I understand that after a year applications become void, and the prospect of being successful for a Ground School before May 2017 is looking very slim.
I am new to the forum, and just wanted to give you an insight into my long journey so far! Still keeping my fingers crossed!

Hey sky-high
Oh wow, it's a horrible feeling being told that hey.
Good news that they did reconsifer your application though.
I'm a little confused as to why they didn't notify me on the day after measuring me as one of the assessers pyshicslly wrote down my height,I'm surprised they didn't pull me aside and tell me there and then?
