Would be great to meet you guys, really would, but would also be great to stay home for GS, if you get what I mean. Especially 'cause holidays are coming, my first Chrissy in Oz and, in general, first Christmas on ground in 8years!!!
Of course I'll go wherever they send me, everyone would, but was secretly hoping I'll be one of those to do the training at home. My husband had this crazy dream last night saying they offered me a spot in Syd, but no chance on earth they'd squeeze me into that one!
Did my medical yesterday and apparently they'll receive the results on Tuesday, so we'll see how fast things will be moving. Fingers crossed.
May I ask, for how long does the GS go for? Out training with EK was extremely long, almost 3months, but I'm sure it's much quicker here. Just First Aid there was a full 2weeks course...
Anyways, what has to happen, will happen! I'm ready to get back up there! Half a year on ground was more than enough!
It's great that you got your medical done You never know! Fingers crossed for Syd. Im sure they said that training is 7 weeks long, but surely it would be dragged out a little longer because of Christmas (?).

Dream44, you should definitely try. I honestly never thought I'd even pass the AD, I spent a good few days in a total daze and shaking like a chihuahua once I got the reference email, because I was so sure I wouldn't get past the first round haha. Could be the best decision you ever make.

I've spent the last 15years thinking I'm 168cm and yesterday on the medical, nurse said 170! Good I started that Pilates 2months ago, ey? Just joking! Haha, scale was also friendlier than the one we've got at home, so you won't hear me complaining! But, yeah, how did she get 170 I have no idea.
Go for it, babe!
Nothing haunts you more than the chances you didn't take! You don't want that!
Thanks Dinc D Princ ! I will definitely go for it !

Just got an email that some of the other forum members have received- about being on hold until after the New Year, and about reapplying if nothing comes up. Is great to hear something, but not sure how I feel. Anyone else get this?

Same here as did another girl that attended the same AD as me.. A little disappointed as I was really hoping it would happen this year however I really believe we are the next round of applicants that will go through next year... I heard it would be probably Feb/March... Oh well, bring on the new year is all I can say...

I truly hope that you get some great news in the New Year. Make sure you enjoy Christmas as it may be the last one you have at home for a while (then again nothing wrong with celebrating it in January or November - we celebrate it around my shift work). Don't stress once you get medical assessment email - I was pleasantly surprised when I did my medical yesterday. Wishing you all the very best and hope you get your wings soon

Hi Everyone!

I went for my medical last week, everything checked out fine *phew*. I just needed to get a Twinrix vaccination for Hep A & B which I got yesterday. I need another one in a month and another 6 months after that, because I love needles...not! I emailed the QF doctor my vaccination certificate last night, and they sent off my medical result to QF today. So who knows what to expect now!

For all of those who received hold emails, don't lose hope. I'm sure once the Christmas and New Year period is over, everything will be all systems go again. From what I hear from friends of mine who are currently with Jetconnect and QCCA, there are going to be more ground schools around February and March. However we all know things change by the second!

Congrats on getting through to the medicals! You must be so excited!
I was on active hold but last week I received the ASIC email so am moving again woohoo! I'm literally extatic! Everyone on hold stay positive!!!!

Can you tell me exactly what immunisations we need to have aside from Hep A and Hep B? I want to try and get this out of the way now to help speed things up. 😊😊

Got my job offer yesterday.
Starting 30th Nov. Even though I had a lot of questions, they didn't have the answers, so unfortunately I can't share with you
if it's going to be held in Syd or not
and is it for Main fleet or 380.

What's the alternative to SYD?
(hello everyone, we're on the same boat I assume)

Yep I'm excited, but with it taking so long this far, I don't know what to think anymore really! Congratulations on moving forward as well! With the vaccinations, I had a blood test as a part of the medical to show what I needed. Once I got the vaccination required I scanned a copy of the certificate and sent it to the doctor, then they sent my results to QF. I think it was called a serology blood test? Your doctor will know what it is. I'd been vaccinated again MMR, Hep B, and Chicken pox previously thankfully.

Only time will tell if it's more active hold, or a ground school. Its felt like the amazing race, or something along those lines!

drug test and medical

Hi All,

congratulations for those of you got their golden call!
i did my AD in Melb back in July 16.
I have just received an email they asked me to complete the medical checks.

I have one pending document, the swimming competency cert, where can I get this one?I live in melbourne.

after read the post in the past months, apparently once we done this medical is not guarantee you get the spot with QF.
I don;t know if should continue or withdraw this.

best of luck to those are waiting the call!

Thank you both! It feels good to get my wings back. I can finally give Australia a proper go now.
I'll let you know about the base and fleet as soon as I find out and, during the training, raise a few questions about future trainings which might help you get some prospective on what's ahead.
I'm looking forward to meeting you up there, sooner or later! Feel free to PM me if anything.
Khoi, keep your head up! It's around the corner and you've got it this time!
Mn64, you've been amazing this entire recruitment! Your journey was incredible to read! And I just know you're next! Waiting 4 U!!!
Kevinsmiley, you amazing little creature who wears a heart on his sleeve, you're such an honest open person! You'll be great at this job! Gonna keep on cheering for you, matey!
Ains76, you've probably received a job offer by now! Wishing you all the best for your training! If you start on the 30th, we might be batchmates!
And the rest of you guys, all the best to you all! Just hang in there and don't give up! Everything changes so fast. Two weeks ago I was on active hold and look how quickly that changed. Still can't believe it! So don't lose hope and think positive!
