Medical
I got mine today too. I'm all booked in for Monday. Trying to get blood test done tomorrow or Friday to show my vaccines. Shocked the living day lights out of me. Was checking work emails to see if any update on new EBA. Well done Dinc. Hope all goes well

Thank you guys so much for your comments! I'd be so lonely in all this without having you here. All your input has helped me tremendously 'cause, God knows, we're all a bit lost not knowing what's really happening. Being able to compare my case to yours made me feel better.
Following some stories here... oh man, made me happy, mad, sad, glad, shocked, you name it! But like I said before, we're all great and wonderful in different ways and every single one of us would bring something to the company.
We've got this! (now I'd put my signature sign moving smiley, but someone told me long time ago it's annoying, so I'll limit it to one a week and, damn, I've already used a sharky a few days earlier! )
roamingthesky, I haven't received anything last week. My last one was on the 12th saying they're going through 'internal process'.

Ains76, best of luck to you too on Monday! I thought you can do the blood test on the same place (as in, it's included in your medical) and then just do drugs/alcohol additionally. I'm very lucky to have all my vaccinations up to date due to resigning EK just recently, so it'll ease the financial aspect.

Congrats to all those receiving the fantastic news... As I mentioned in my previous post I think they are just filling the Nov 16 Syd school and the Nov 22 Mel school at the moment and that will be it for the year. A few people here and there are receiving emails to join those training days as others (that have rec'd offer) may need to give more notice to employees etc so can't make those dates...
Hang in there Mn64, I'm sure we aren't too far away.. I really hope it will be this year but I think it will be next year now..
Oh my last email was 12th October stating "active hold" etc...

Hello everyone
Just a curious question.. do we get our own shoes or do they provide as uniform? Haha because some of my friends said they provide and some say they don't.. so I just want to make it clear

Apparently you have to buy them. Google Louise M shoes, you will find cabin and airport shoes. The shoes that say 'style on Q' are apparently the approved ones.

I was asked would I be able to attend GS end of this month (no date or city mentioned), and of course, job offer would follow once my medical gets the final clearance from QF.
I do believe I was maybe contacted with all this because I did mention in my CV I'm currently not employed and haven't got any notice period.

Yep, Sarah77, you're spot on! I just had a talk to them over the phone and that's exactly what they said.

Hi Dream44
The QF websited states that "Height between 163 - 183cm, or for QantasLink 158cm - 183cm". They measured our height at the Assessment day (shoes off). Here is the link to the website Qantas Careers | Flight Attendants

Thank you Sarah and D Princ for the updated information. That certainly helps a lot of people including me feeling a bit more positive because at least we know that QF is still organising ground school for people and i feel hopeful that the rest of us who are on active hold will be contacted beginning of next year. So Mn64, i think you are the first in line for the next batch for ground school , i am SYD base but would be nice if we can go to ground school together haha, you've been amazingly helpful on here when i read back the posts . just also out of curiosity and perhaps active preparation, i am on xref active hold and got that email on 25th Oct, what documents do i need to prepare for ASIC. I have already done my blood test for the hep A,B MMR, chicken pox and i have got all the vaccination needed for those, what else apart from waiting and hanging tight should i need to do? i just want to be ready for when i get that email . this is my first time of applying and i missed my AD in July because i was overseas , so now i know that getting all the documents needed and submitted is really crucial for having to wait 3 months or 6 months haha .
100 points of ID which has been certified by a QF manager/supervisor or JP
A current photo (like passport size)
10 years address history
It is a pretty quick process hopefully it will just be 3 months (or less!)

Oh this is awesome! Congrats!! If starting end of this month is most likely to be in Melbourne base I assume. Hopefully get to meet you if you are in melb gs!
Tnx, vivvyx3! I'm still super cautious... Not over till the fat lady sings!
Would be great to meet you guys, really would, but would also be great to stay home for GS, if you get what I mean. Especially 'cause holidays are coming, my first Chrissy in Oz and, in general, first Christmas on ground in 8years!!!
Of course I'll go wherever they send me, everyone would, but was secretly hoping I'll be one of those to do the training at home. My husband had this crazy dream last night saying they offered me a spot in Syd, but no chance on earth they'd squeeze me into that one!
Did my medical yesterday and apparently they'll receive the results on Tuesday, so we'll see how fast things will be moving. Fingers crossed.
May I ask, for how long does the GS go for? Out training with EK was extremely long, almost 3months, but I'm sure it's much quicker here. Just First Aid there was a full 2weeks course...
Anyways, what has to happen, will happen! I'm ready to get back up there! Half a year on ground was more than enough!

Dream44, I would still apply if I were you! You seriously never know. Once you reach Assessment Day, if they say something, at least you can go home and say 'I gave it my best!'. Like this, you'll constantly wonder...
I've spent the last 15years thinking I'm 168cm and yesterday on the medical, nurse said 170! Good I started that Pilates 2months ago, ey? Just joking! Haha, scale was also friendlier than the one we've got at home, so you won't hear me complaining! But, yeah, how did she get 170 I have no idea.
Go for it, babe!
Nothing haunts you more than the chances you didn't take! You don't want that!
