They hold onto the 6 month rule quite strictly I am sure as I had to wait before they would consider my application again. So just use your waiting time to prepare for the next lot of interviews...Good luck!

Isabeli,

maybe you should sort out your things and go for an OD when you are ready!!!!!!!!! EK won't wait for you if they urgently need people.

Gela1009,

go for the OD. I wouldn't miss it for sure.

ISabeli

Hey ISabeli, I have more or less the same problem, because I'll graduate in February, but someone told me here in this forum that apparently there won't be such a big issue, let's hope!
Are you from Italy, right?

DoJ

ISabeli and Juliette-chan,

if you are successful in the preliminary rounds and manage to get to the FI, you will be given a form where (among zillion other things) you need to write when you would be able to join and whether you have any other planned events.

I had my FI yesterday and I wrote that I have some formalities at the uni connected to my thesis in November and would therefore be able to join in December.

I guess that as long as the delay is reasonable and justifiable, it should be OK.

waiting time

hey guys i think you should stop worrying about joining date and so on because am still waiting for an answer from Emirates. (had my FI in May 2011)

so long you do not get the golden call there's no need to worry about joining date - reduce the stress

Hi guys,

I had my final interview on 7th August. I had setup a profile on emirates website applying for open days previously but my status has not been updated from 'not shortlisted'. I have sent all my photos and completed all forms. Is this normal?

Please anyone with experience of the same get in touch!

Also do Emirates leave a voice message if you don't make the call?

Dear sabbs
From what I have read, and there has been plenty, it is highly unlightly that you will be rejected because of your age. I think the recuiters will be more interested in your experiance, personality and appearance as a means of determining if you are a fit for the airline.
I have applied on line and recieved an email, generated one, thanking me for my application and time. In this email, it says if you have not been contacted within 3 monthes you can assume your application has been unsuccesful.
I have yet to see an open day posted in south africa, only global assesment days; but i believe if you online application is unsuccesful you may stil attend an open day. Global assesment days however are by invitation only.
I completed my application going on a week and a half ago, but the waiting sucks, I am also wondering how long it will take to review it, and hoping to attend the september the 10th date. good luck!!!!
hopefully there will be something on my profile soon!

My experience!!

Hello everyone!! I just received last monday the Golden Call!!

I attended the Open Day in Sevilla on 13/8
Assessment Day on 14/8
Final Interview 15/8
Grooming email 24/8
"You will be contacted...″ 28/8
Golden Call 29/8 (at 8:36 am UK Time) (Exactly two weeks since my FI)
Date of Joining 31/10 (Yes, Halloween!!!)

Now, just waiting for the email with all the details for the medicals

Anyone joining on the same date??

Good luck to everyone awaiting the Golden Call and also for those attending the OD or AD, they are tough but it's not impossible!!

See you in Dubai!!

High Heels

Hi! I have my OD on the 9th of September, I'm very excited (and nervous!). This thread has been very very helpful, so thank you!

I was wondering about shoes for the interview. I have a pair of tan, three inch high heels but I'm not sure if those are appropriate? Im thinking a lower, black high heel would be better. Thoughts?

shoes

upintheair7, I think tan shoes should be OK. On our OD, most of the girls wore dark court shoes with medium high heels, but there were also some in cream-coloured shoes and I even saw some in 'peep-toes', which I would judge inappropriate, but apparently it was OK.

ntello, just two weeks after your FI? Wow, that's good news. I hope my case will be solved quickly as well, I'll go crazy if I have to wait 6 weeks

what do I need to do?

hi akoti19. it seems we are from the same country so I was wondering if you could assist me.what I need to do to make my application more attractive, i think. I have applied so many times and am yet to receive an invitation for the AD, or to anything for that matter, including job alerts! It seems you were at least successful in getting an interview.any pointers?

Medical Question

Anyone that has completed medicals - is there a submit button in the portal once you upload all the forms? Or does the status just remain 'in progress' and they will check?

They will check your medical tests and send you final approval... you just have to upload them, there is no submit button

Shoes

For girls asking about shoes: For ODs there can be a little more flexibility, however it is recommended that shoes have heels (I think this excludes wedges, not sure), closed toe, no ankle straps and colour that matches your suit.
For the FI as well as the pictures you will have to submit, this is more strict... As for tan shoes, well, I guess they could be ok if they match your suit and fill in all the other requirements but black ones are the 'safest' option. You could always try the tan ones for the OD and then maybe switch to the others.

Mine are like this:

Not the best looking in town, but comfortable, classic, sober and cabin-crew-like.
