about tattoos...you have to only follow the human image there.. all from knees to feet is red area,so no tattoos allowed... same as for hands.. I think.. dont know if they would allow us to wear pants all the time (I actually dont like my legs too much lol :P )

I have my DOJ in 6 days, and they still haven't sent me ticket and visa... should i write them a query or just wait still?

Hi,

Im currently EK crew... On arrival you will recieve a medical from the company doctor. This includes blood tests and urine check for drugs.

There are times when new joining crew have lied on medicals before joining and are asked to leave.

Uni post or pre cabin crew?

Quick question fellow ppruners, I'm currently studying at university, with 3 years to go, with plans to apply for emirates after I finish. My parents were speaking with some cabin crew during a flight yesterday, one mentioned it's better to become cabin crew first as it broadened her horizons and gave her greater insight and maturity and she wished she hadn't gone to uni first. What do we think? Would deferring uni be a good idea? Any views that current crew could share would be appreciated, thanks!

You have to be 21 min to apply to Emirates, if however you are already 21 heres my advice; I am currently completing my honours year, I will be 22 next month and hopefully will get my golden call soon, then i will join next year with an honours degree under my belt. Truth is expreriance is an invaluble teacher, however what you may find is that University not only practically provides you with a greater "value" in societ and the work force, but also expands your knowledge and challenges the way you think .. meaning as a basis for the adventures of ctual experiance , you have a deeper or more inveloped capasity to process and grow from what is offered to you. also chances are if you like the job , you wont want to leave it in a year or 3 to study ..
study , open your mind , than take your new wisdom into the way you experiance the world .

No need to lie in your application!! yes, they might make dental control. Listen, I have a gap (true it isnt visible, only if i laugh with biiig mouth) and the dentist wrote it there! it wrote as ''one posterior non visible gap''. And my medicals were approved. So dont worry if it's not visible!!

I got my acc and ticket and all..I will be in the sarab building block 4, 6th floor... will arrive in DXB on the 27th september. keep you in touch!! fingers crossed!

internal hiring

Anyone knows if you need to go through the normal selection process (e.g. group discussions, written test) even if you were shortlisted by EK on their internal hiring for the cabin crew position? Is it much easier to pass if you've already worked for them, and then got shortlisted for the position on their internal hiring? Your answer will be greatly appreciated!

Medicals

Hello everyone... reading this forum and your replies has been such a great help so thanks a lot

I have a simple question:

If I have the blood test results all in one page (HIV, Haemoglobin, VPRL, etc). Is it possible to upload them just one time and in a sinlge sheet of paper?

If I do so, maybe the other tests will show up with the status "pendind". Is there any problem?

thank you in advance

applying from dubai

Hey guys...

I am in dubai and have applied online for the cabin crew position, my status changed recently to being under review since i changed my current address, although i have not heard anything after that for two weeks now. There is an open day here as per the emirates website on the 1st of october but it says you must be fluent in arabic. I will go and inquire further at the headquaters if international can attend, but i am wondering still if there is anyone here that have been to that open day here in dubai?

I have a feeling it will take a long time to get a reply.

Airline Discounts

Hey there everyone!

Not sure if anyone would know the specific details about the flight discounts that Emirates Cabin Crew get?

For importantly I want to know if cabin crew from this airline are allowed discounts on other airlines. I know Air Canada for example, after being with the company for some time, allows discounts on other airlines.

Disccounts

I've heard it's 90% discount for you and your parents, eventually spouse.
I'm not sure thought if you have to pay 10%+taxes or only 10% of the total.

I know the cabin crew themselves pay 10% + all taxes if they want to wait for a spot on standby.

But I'm still wondering if they get discounts on other airlines?
