medicals

I just wanted to ask you, how long does it take to approve the medicals? Cause it's been a week and my medical status is still in progress, and there is still the option to remove my files from the site, that means that they not even started looking at them ...

No, it's not ok!
You'll really need to go to the dentist!
I guess there's no company in the world that accepts caries.
Here, in Brazil, you wouldn't receive your licence if you have any caries.
Why? That's because you will be in a lot I really mean too much pain, if the Aircraft has a decompression...
So, take care of your teeth ASAP... =)

medical

hi to everyone. I was wondering if u ever heard of anyone who failed to pass medicals. On medical declaration form I ve mentioned surgical operation which I had ages ago, which i did not know that would make such a big fuss!!! I provided them a report from my doctor, but still they did not approve my medicals. I am so regret that I mentioned this stupid operation which is easier than any plastic surgery!!!... Will be so devistated if I am rejected cos of this... If I never write it, they d never ever know about this. will they punish me for my honesty?

lumpectomy

Cabin crew as a group have shown over the years a higher tendency to cancers, especially breast cancer, so I would think it's not the having had surgery that's their concern, but the fact that since you have already had lumps (benign or not) that you may develop them again. It's all about medical insurance and risk.

Cancer treatments are very expensive for expats now, they are no longer free in the UAE except for nationals.

You did the right thing though, had you not mentioned it, then developed a problem nd it came out later that you didn't report it in the medicals, you would be dismissed without appeal.

Every woman over 30 have the risk for breast cancer and non-cancerous lumps are very comman among women. And it cannot be said that who had non-cancerous lumps before will have cancer in the future, also who did not have will never get cancer... Breast cancer is 90% genetical, people whose mother or aunt had breast cancer, they are in the most risk , so they should ask female candidates about this...Also, people who smoke are more tend to get cancer and heart diseases, then they should not hire people who smoke...

Rimaa
Hi Rimaa yes call them and let them know as soon as possible, i have a freind who at the interview he explained to them there and then he was still at university and he couldnt join until he was finished in march/april/may time and they said that was ok he then got his GC and he explained again that he couldnt join when they wanted him to so they told him he would need to have another interview nearer the time he can join again, so he will have to wait 6 mth,im not sure if it goes over 6 mth you may have to reapply or they may just ask you to go back for another interview
hope this helps,

Guys! I have one question for those who have already applied for the EK for the second time. I already applied for EK in August and I didn't go through the assessment day, actually they didn't accept my CV. I was thinking to re-apply again in February. As I remember recruiter told us that we need to wait 6 months after assessment day or 12 months after final interview if we want to re-apply.
Long story short my last OD was on August 27th but this time EK recruiter team will come to my city on 11th February(5.5 months). What do u think! Should I wait or should I go?

flyflytravel , 5 moths is more than enough ! This is the rule - OD (cv drop of but no call - 3months wait . , AD (called after cv drop off and made it to group interviews) - 6 months ) FI (Formal interview ) 1 year .

So if you went to the OD and they didtn't accept your cv then you can go !

Good luck !

My advice to you is to go through and search all the tips for OD and AD so that you are extra prepared . Also looking the part really helps - look on the Emirates sight at how the girls look and do your hair and make up just like that (presuming your a girl) If your a man make sure your suit is perfect , your clean shaven with neat hair .

I was a little surprised as I had my OD and AD in one day so I wasnt that prepared . I was there from 830 am - 730 pm ... Now I am just waiting and hoping .

Another thing I would suggest is getting there early and being in the first or 2nd row .... Having been to 2 OD / AD i saw that the majority of people chose were all in the front . Smile , pay attention and ask some smart questions so that they notice you in the growd and know your interested !

Good luck !
