DOJ
Hi everyone!
I have been reading through all your posts but I have got one question, I am going to attend to Seville OD but I would like to know whether they are flexible with the DOJ or not, because I would be able to join the company from January.
Do you guys think they will see any challenge if i say in the OD that I would be able from January?

RE : ughostess
They do not hold Open Days in Kenya. Check the official info on the main website Welcome to Emirates Group Careers Centre - Work for Emirates

Sky Walk thanks so much! I think what goes around comes around
emirates_wannabee I think there will be ODs and ADs in october, november and december for sure, but in Emirates website they always list just this month and the next, not all months.
ughostess as you have been advised here, look at Emirates Career Centre first to check if there is such OD. In case it is being held, there is no need for you to be shortlisted or invited (this is for ADs) you have to show up with the paperwork needed (CV and pictures).
EDIT!: there are ADs (not OD) in Nairobi, Kenya on August 20th and 21th but as I said you need to be invited. Nevertheless I read a few times here that people went anyways, sometimes they could just leave their CVs and got dismissed... other times could stay and be assessed, maybe those were just lucky.

I had my FI on the 4th August in Malaysia and I found my status change from "Under Review" to "Approval In Progress" today 9th August! So excited! Hopefully "You Will Be Contacted...." will be the next change. Finger crossed.

Keep the faith
Hello everyone,
congratulations to all receiving their golden calls and keep the faith to those who are waiting for theirs.
Everything happens for a reason because a month after my regret letter,i was diagonised with hyperthyroidism,a condition that among other symptoms causes the heart to beat really fast and unfit to fly.so even if i'd have gotten the golden call i wouldn't have passed my medicals.
So to everyone who feels discouraged for not going through, everything happens for a reason.
Now,my question is,during the medicals,do they check for your thyroid activity,i really want to know so that i can choose my form of treatment.
Thank you all.

Emirates
Hi all,
I am thinking of applying for Emirates and attending their Open Day in London at the end of August. To date I have applied for FlyBe and British Airways, and was unsuccessful when applying for Virgin, but none of them required attending an Open Day.
Could someone tell me how it works, do I need to register on the website, attend the Open Day, drop of my CV, ask any questions and then wait to hear back from them? Or potentially could they take my CV on the day and assess me then and there?
I'm currently preparing for my BA assessment day next week so am focusing on that and don't want to start learning about Emirates at the same time and confusing myself.
So yeah, basically how does the Open Day work?
Thanks in advance guys!!

resume format?
hi everyone
i have been following this forum for a while and am planning to attend the OD in sydney end of this month on the 27th. i'm just a bit concerned as they have not posted the venue yet! does anybody know what are the chances of the OD getting cancelled? i have registered online and my status has changed to 'application under review'. the OD for syd was only posted end of July, so prior to that i have applied for the brisbane OD happening on the 20th and also the AD in KL last week (but had no response..i think i applied too late, about 2.5 weeks before the AD), the statuses for these applications are also 'application under review'
i have been reading through but could not find any info on resumes! any tips on the length, information to include (things like height, nationality etc), style (bullet points, short description of work experiences) - i would imagine the resume to be slightly different from a resume applying for office jobs in australia. would appreciate any feedback and advise!

hey guys! I have been following this forum for a while!
I had my final interview on 4th of august. and even though I have completed the psychometric test online, they asked me to pass it again once the interview was finished. I dunno if it s a good sign or a bad sign! Does anyone here who was asked to complete the psychometric test again got their golden call?

I am back with good news
Hi everyone here,
First I want to thank all of you guys for your posts that help me alot during the last year to improve my chances with EK assessmnet. And please let me give special thanks to: Teddy 86, Tatimari, Zarrah k, Kingofek, Stacyhoney, Baccrat, Swimming gal, Kenyan 85, Aeromar 27, Ally 23x, Want to fly, May 26, Jbrsp11, Piyal and her majesty Mari for all your precious advices. ( I copy pasted many posts of you guys in a very loooooong word file to prepare my self for last AD & FI).
I tried last year for first time, but unfortunatly I was rejected after more than four months of waiting...
But as Nelson Mandela said « A winner is a dreamer who never gives up » . I applied again for a second chance, and here the details :
Open day and Assessment day ; June 3rd in Montreal Canada
FI ; June 5th
Under Review ; June 27th
Approval in progress; July 18th
Grooming Email; July 28th
You`ll be contacted; Aug 1st
GOLDEN CALL ; Aug 6th
Employment Contract; Aug 9th
DOJ ; Oct 3rd
Good luck for all of you especially people who are waiting for the GC. My advice is to keep positive and never loose hope ...(try to think little bit for a plan B in case.)
Wish you all the best.
