Cubiks test

Hi guys!

I've made it to the FI which is today, so yeey
I had to do the Cubiks test yesterday and it was horrible! I didn't know what exactly to answer, it is really hard since you only have 2 extreme questions. Does anybody know how important this test is? Can you fail because of it?

Hie Arvind74

Thanks you very much for clarifying the age part. I've heard a lot of bad things from the people who have been there, from age to looks that at a certain point i almost thought there were right after i was rejected first time at Qatar. I applied on the internet in july and i'm still waiting for the invite to the coming Assessment. I know there will be an assessment on the 10th of sept and i'm starting to wonder how long they take to review and respond to someone's application?

There are new dates for the Open and the Assessment Days in my country, and i finally after a whole year after receiving the rejection mail, i'm going to be able to try again, but i have a little concern. My last assessment day was at the end of september last year, and the next asssessment day is the first week of october. According to that its more than a year, but i received the rejection mail in october 12th and the assesment is on the 8th, so my question is, is there any problem if i assisst to that assessment day of october? Since when do i have to start counting the year? From the last assessment or from the rejection mail date?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Hey PrimaveraCero,

About the documents you have to bring with you: if you are successful until the FI (and I hope you will ;-) ) you'll give to the recruiters:

1) copy or your passport
2) if you're working, a copy of your contrat or a copy of your professional card
3)copy of your high school degree and your diploma(s)
4)They also ask for 6 passport-sized photographs, 1 full lenght photo in bussines attire, and 2 casuals. The passport-sized are mandatory for the FI, for the other you can't wait to be at home for choosing the good one .

They don't ask for proof of languages studies and it's not necessary to translate the document in english. They ask it only for your medicals if you are successful.
For proof of studies, i don't know but i think it's better to bring it with you.

Don't forget the photographs, the update cv and a bright smile for the OD!!

Good luck!!!

Thank You

Hey, I am so thankful for this forum, I don't think I would have made it this far if it wasn't for the great advise I received here.

So I am currently in my 6-8 Week waiting period and I have to say this wait is killing me.

Out of the 250 people that attended the OD only 30 came back to the AD and 15 for the FI, I have become close with 3 of them and none of us have been contacted yet so fingers crossed

My Timeline
OD - 20 August
AD - 21 August
FI - 22 August

Good Luck to everyone and if you have any questions please ask away =]

Cubiks

Arvind74, you were right, they did make me re-take the test (even though they didn't ask everyone to do that) - is it a bad sign? I really really dislikes such questionnaires and I can't relax and answer the first thing that comes to my mind. Well, the only thing I can do now is wait.. we'll see.

Good luck to everyone!

Question CV drop-off

Hi everyone! Another query here.. ek career site says cv drop-off (cabin crew position) is for those applicants who are fluent in written and spoken arabic only. This was posted since feb 2010. Here's the link: https://ekgrpapplications.emirates.c...Vacancies.aspx. Does this still apply? I meant what if a non-arabic fluent wants to apply personally in dxb for the position? Does that mean she will not be screened further?

P.S. As for the link: kindly type "cabin crew" in the keyword and click search, then click on the "emirates cabin crew opportunities". There.. you will see what i was inquiring bout. Hope to hear from you people. TIA!

OD in Praguce, CZ

Hi Guys, Ladies and Getlemen.
First of all I would like to thank you all for posting here. I was reading the EK Thread from number I right to number IX from late May. So as to be prepared for my OD in Prague.
And as a thank you, I feel I have to share my experience from the OD. I try to be as detailed as possible.

First day - 27.8. I arrived at 8 a.m. to be one of the first in line. It was mentioned here before so I thought it was a good idea. Already there were like 20 people waiting which suprised me. Our nation is not known to be that punctual. The session started exatly at 9 a.m. when we were shown to a big conference room by two wery lovely EK recruiters Mirka and Andrea (Both Czech!) and asked to take a seat. I did a quick count of heads and around 170-190 people came. Many from airlines based in Prague. And a few forigners.
The Recriuters than played a video about EK destinations. Than the remote control broke down so we were given a chance tio ask some questions. Thanks to how our nation can be unprepared this part took almost 2 hours! After finish with everything the Recruiters finaly played the EK Cabin Crew video.
Than we were asked to bring one by one the CV with the passport size photo and that we will have a quick chat with one of the recruiters. If we are succesful through this screening they will call us not later than 6 p.m. to come the next day. I was wery nervous since I do have some 3 and half years of customers service experience but as part-timer and I have a medical certificate thanks to the fact I was a coach and trained small kids. But I am very young, I will be 22 this october. So I waited because there was no way to rush anywhere. I was of the last people left in the room when it was my turn. So I came to her, told the recruiter Good Afternoon, How do you do madam? And of course smiled the whole day. I wanted to be myslef so as I am a very open person I talked to many, many people around me.
The recruiter than asked me about my language skills. I told her that I consider all 5 of them to be fluent according to the standarts of EK as I had the chance to read it on their website what it means. And than she asked me: "Why do you want to join us?" so I told her that "it is my dream. I love flying, it is my passion, that my mother, former flight attendant, is a person I have always looked up to and there is simply no better way than Emirates." That was all, I said good bye and went home. At 2:59 p.m. I recieved a call from one of the recuiters that I was succesful and that I should be in the hotel at 9 a.m. Believe me I was shocked but very glad!

Second day - 28.8. The day started again exactly at 9 a.m. There were 35 of us (there was another group that was told to come at 11 a.m. - around 25-30 people). We were than asked to go into the conference room and tell one of the Recruiters our name. We recieved numbers which we had to stick on our jacket. From than on we had to use this number as a refference number of ours. Mine was for some reason no.1. So we than had to sit in circle (there were two of them) first circle number 1-16 and number 17-35 second circle, than we had to ask person sitting on our right-hand side as many things to get to know something about him as possible. And most importantly. what is his/hers dream house. While doing this we were called by our numbers to do a reach test. And we did a quick chat too. I do not remember what was I aksed. But it was again something from the CV. Than after all went through the reach test, we had to discuss in the circle what are 3 disadvantages of living in Dubai and why (circle one) and what are 3 advantages (circle two). Than three people were picked by the recruiters to present the answers. After this excercise we had to wait for about 10-15 minutes till the gave us the letters. I was so nervous when I recieved mine. But I found Congratulations... So I was in for another game!

We had a free time till the second group, that came at 11 a.m. finished. After that we wrote an English test. I would say it was rather easy but I think it is just a personal point of view. Another elimination. And I continued.

Than we had to go in, 44 of us made it for the last excercise. We where divided into 4 groups of 9 and one group of 8. when the group was called in we sat in the circle again and we were called one by one to do the tattoo and scares declaration. I have a burn scar on my right hand which is barely noticible and completely unvisible when in shirt but still I have it and I wanted to be honest. Than we had to do another group activity. We were like a crew on board of a plane with overloaded bussines class. We had to downgrade 6 of 8 passangers whose personal info we had on papers we recieved. There is no correct or wrong answer! It is just how you cope and how you can work together. This whole thing is like 15 minutes long. At the end one of the recruiters even played an angry passanger and we had to explain the reasons why she had to be downgraded. We than waited for some 5 minutes and recieved letters... mine was again Congrats... Than we booked an interview date.

29.8. - Final Interview. some 28 people made to the finals! The Recruiters themselves said this could be a record. Those who amde it recieved in the evening 28.8. personality online test instructions and had some paperwork to do. This had to be done before the interview. The Interview itself wasnt hard. I was asked about my jobs, what I liked and what I did not. Some examples of customers service and so on but because it was my first interview only in English I made several mistakes when speaking which I immediately corrected. but still I made them! At the end we I was aksed to do IQ test. That was all!

Because of the amount of people who made it to the Finals, The recruiters will be in Dubai not earlier than Friday so on Friday my 6 weeks of waiting game starts!

I hope this is not too long to read and maybe it will hepl someone. Thank you for your patience guys when reading it and I wish you all All the best!!!

Julidzg you should count the months from your FI.

merci chocapic! thank you so much! I just have to make copies of everything this afternoon

missrena yes, I know a person who didn't declare the tattoos at first, but did it when reaching the medicals stage. They approved the tattoos as long as they were covered at all times. (this person said the tattoos were done after the FI and that was in part true).
In my case I have them in my ankles so I'll declare them, I'm undergoing laser treatment and yesterday may have been the last session (or just one more we'll see). I asked for a medical certificate to prove it.

Hi All!
I had my AD on 27.Aug and FI on 28. Aug.
I am extremely worried about tattoo issue.. I have tattoo on upper part of my back, which is actually covered by uniform. I declared it during my FI and showed to recruiter who said it seems to be all right. But still tattoo is declared
After FI i read lots of advices that NEVER declare your tattoo to recruiters othewise you'll be 100% rejected. I'm so confused that this can be now the reason they will reject me.
Though FI went pretty well..

Its been nice watching this thread for the past 8 months.

I attended the AD 6 months ago and got to the 2nd round. Now, 6 months later and 12 days away from another OD.

What is the general consensus on people who only speak English. I have been actively learning Arabic for a while, but am still at a beginner level.

Anyone with EK now have an idea on the type of candidates that have joined recently? I know of a few that surprised me a bit... and I hire people for a living...

Thanks!

hello

if your recruiter said its ok - then just be positive and wait. if you do not declare when in Dubai they would cross-check you anyway, so its good you declared it.

be positive - so long you do not receive the rejection mail means you still stand good (am waiting since more than 3 months now)

missrena this person declared the tattoos before flying to Dubai, but after the FI, when doing the medicals in the country of origin. When the person had the medicals in Dubai, they already knew about them.

viiva you did good in declaring your tattoo, as long as it is not seen when you're in uniform is ok. You and arvind keep waiting for those GC

No-poaching agreement

Is the one year no-poaching agreement between QR and EK valid when it comes to joining the company or attending an OD/AD? I mean, I still have 5 more months to go but I know you can apply an ask for a few months until you join the company. Am I eligible?

Question J-sal

Yeah i applied online but I havent heard from then since 3 months or so. That means I wasn't considered right? So I was thinking I might go to uae and apply personally in dxb I see you're in dubai now. Do you have any idea if they also accept non-arabic speakers as walk-in candidates? Thanks much!

missrena well, I wouldn't know what to say to you... The tattoo is covered by the uniform right? It's really up to you, if you want to declare it now or tell them there in Dubai. I really can't tell you what to do, sorry!
