Hey betterharbor,
About the psychometric test-Its totally fine that you did the second one
It just means that they could not find clear answers about yourself from the first one, thats why they gave you the second psychometric test.

My cousin and I went through the same thing-she did the second psychometric test,i only did the online one.Now as we speak, she's in Dubai doing her training. So dont sweat it,you'll be fine.

I really hope you get the job,all the best!!

Beaverfly

To Beaverfly and everybody else who congratulated us, thank you so much for sharing our joy I love the camaraderie amongst us, its awesome!

Beaverfly, in our group at the final interviews, we were only four guys and about twenty girls. If I were an Emirates HR representative, it would make sense to sort through the guys first and then get to the girls. I'm assuming that that's what happened in our case and that's why I would've received feedback sooner than honey16. (She and I were at the same assessment day)

Otherwise I suppose there could be many other reasons why some take longer than others to get their calls. I strongly doubt though, that a longer wait means a lesser chance of success.

I know all about the gruelling wait! But I promise you, when you get your Golden Call, you wouldn't mind doing it all again! Its totally worth it

To all the people new to this forum, please go through this thread and previous ones to familiarise yourselves with the processes and FAQ's pertaining to the OD, AD, FI, Joining Formalities and everything else you might need to know.

Good luck to everyone else waiting for the GC's or preparing for the AD, OD, FI. Holding thumbs for everybody!

Kenyandoll

Hi Kenyandoll

I'm sorry that you've been kept in suspense for so long. Not successful, Application under review, not successful, if that happened to me I'd probably feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster! I think that it would be best to contact the HR Department, because its already been more than six weeks.

Email them on the address they gave you at your final interview, and if you don't receive a reply after a few days, try calling them.

Good luck, I really hope your wait is not in vain

hello guys

there's one thing i would like to share - when you will be called for the reach test, try to walk properly just like the emirates cabin crew does, because i do think they assess you on the way you walk.. and of course smileeee

good luck to all those going for the open day, assessment day, and/or final interview

nairobi AD 12th June

well,I attended the Ad on 12th June and the recruiters were really nice.I must say I caught their attention and they both talked to me at length and very nicely.I did not reach the f1 because of one MAJOR REASON,the scar on my hand!I now have to work on it for six months before I can reapply and thus am not giving up any hope until it is hopeless!
daisy akinyi,
i saw you yet there was a lot of tension and you were I think in group 3 or 4 if I am not wrong. How did you fare on?well I hope.
to those who made it farthest I wish you all the best.

Thumbs up Absolutely! YES

I have been researching ER for quite some time, and from everything I have read,
Your next communique will be the famous Golden Call!!
Congratulations!!

I have a question for anyone out there. I am planning on attending the
Open Day in LAX this Saturday. Is age a factor?
I have an excellent resume, and have previous airline experience.
Emirates is a world class airline with an outstanding reputation and I want to work for the best. Can anyone answer please?

Height Requirement

Hi to all,
How are you? Hope all is well. Congrats to all going forward. I have a few questions for you. I went to a Caribbean Airlines recruitment, this was my third attempt and I was rejected because of my height. They are now claiming that the Civil Aviation requirements for FA height is a minimum of 5ft 3" although I still have a copy of their new paper ad. that says minimum height 5ft 2" further more I know of shorter FA's flying with CAL so this, I am assuming, must be some new rules. I measured up at 5ft 2.5" on their BMI scale, soo close yet so far, disappointing. They didn't over look the 1/2 inch.

My question is, how strict is EK with the reach test of 212cms? Do you have to reach facing the wall or back to wall? Do you touch with both hands or one? Do you have to touch over the marker or is just tipping it ok?

I made a marker on my wall at home and I can touch a few mm below the line (I figure I could just get nail extensions to make up for that) but, I intend on stretching everyday (yoga too) to reach it comfortably for next OD. Just to be sure can you give me some clarity on this issue please.

Your continued support and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you bunches
Danielle

Thumbs up Danielle

Hi there, unfortunatlly they are very picky for that 212 cm reach the reason is that they want to make sure that you can reach the emergency equipements onbord the aircraft , almost all the airlines all over the world require that unless they only have dash8 small aircrafts, I read few of the posts and some people got rejected because they could'nt reach that 212cm.
Hope this answer your question , but i would say give it a try you have nothing to lose, if they reject you then you know it's because of height and not something else good luck

Thanks Yulfa & Useful information

Hello everyone,

I came across this post on another blog site and found it very interesting. I hope it helps someone.

THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS

While this list is by no means revolutionary, it is surprising just how many candidates still overlook these basic elements.

Sin 1 - Lack of Research
Although it seems obvious, it still shocks me how many candidates attend an airline interview without even a basic working knowledge of the airline they are approaching. Not only does this lack of effort make candidates appear uninformed and incompetent, it also creates the impression of a lax and unmotivated attitude. Taking the time to conduct some research about the airline will enable you to ask intelligent questions, answer any that are posed to you, and give you a competitive edge over less informed candidates.

Sin 2 - Lack of Preparation

I believe preparation is the key to relieving interview stress and turning out a winning performance, but it’s surprising how many applicants fly by the seat of their pants and hope to wing it at their interview.
If you arrive ill prepared to answer basic questions about your skills, motives and experience, it will show in your performance and attitude. So, do yourself a favour and prepare yourself for success.

Sin 3 - Unprepared and Unnecessary Questions

Never underestimate the power of asking questions at the interview. The questions you ask say a lot about you, your motives, and your depth of knowledge, so be prepared with one or two intelligent questions. Avoid asking questions that have already been addressed within the airlines own literature, or those based on benefits or money.

Sin 4 - Poor Attitude

Candidates who display a poor attitude towards their fellow candidates, the tasks or previous employers will be quickly eliminated from the process. So, no matter how silly the tasks may seem or how nervous you may be feeling, just be positive, actively participate and have fun.

Sin 5 - Unpolished Appearance

Although it is a mistaken belief that airlines only seek cabin crew who look like models, it is true that airlines expect high standards of personal presentation. So, pay close attention to your personal grooming, and be sure to display a professional and presentable appearance.

Sin 6 - Selfish Motivation

Airlines are only interested to learn what you can bring to the position, not what the position will do for you. So, avoid appearing selfishly motivated by focusing your answers on where you can contribute and add value, not what you can learn or benefit from.

Sin 7 - Putting on an Act

In an attempt to create the best possible impression, it is only natural that most of us will put on some form of an act when in an interview situation. However, in doing so, it is important that you remain true to your own personality. Trying to be someone you are not will not only feel awkward, but it is also unnecessary.

Thanks you Yulfa so much for your response. Your advise helps a bit. I am too determined to get this, so to the yoga studio I shall go I will stretch like my life depends on it. We expect to have another OD hosted in Trinidad between September and November, by then i will find a way to reach that 212cms(unaided ) comfortably.
Wish me luck

Don't worry. It normally takes few days to receive the contract. You will receive an email prompting you to go on the selected candidates portal and proceed with joining formalities. You will have to accept the contract within 5 days and follow all the steps and start with your Medicals. You have 14 days to upload your documents.

You have had to receive a paper about instructions of your photo. I am pretty sure about this.

The casual and full body photos must be hands visible and both legs too.
CASUAL which means in a normal day of your life. At beach, at park etc etc...
