Thanks Yulfa & Useful information
Hello everyone,
I came across this post on another blog site and found it very interesting. I hope it helps someone.
THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS
While this list is by no means revolutionary, it is surprising just how many candidates still overlook these basic elements.
Sin 1 - Lack of Research
Although it seems obvious, it still shocks me how many candidates attend an airline interview without even a basic working knowledge of the airline they are approaching. Not only does this lack of effort make candidates appear uninformed and incompetent, it also creates the impression of a lax and unmotivated attitude. Taking the time to conduct some research about the airline will enable you to ask intelligent questions, answer any that are posed to you, and give you a competitive edge over less informed candidates.
Sin 2 - Lack of Preparation
I believe preparation is the key to relieving interview stress and turning out a winning performance, but it’s surprising how many applicants fly by the seat of their pants and hope to wing it at their interview.
If you arrive ill prepared to answer basic questions about your skills, motives and experience, it will show in your performance and attitude. So, do yourself a favour and prepare yourself for success.
Sin 3 - Unprepared and Unnecessary Questions
Never underestimate the power of asking questions at the interview. The questions you ask say a lot about you, your motives, and your depth of knowledge, so be prepared with one or two intelligent questions. Avoid asking questions that have already been addressed within the airlines own literature, or those based on benefits or money.
Sin 4 - Poor Attitude
Candidates who display a poor attitude towards their fellow candidates, the tasks or previous employers will be quickly eliminated from the process. So, no matter how silly the tasks may seem or how nervous you may be feeling, just be positive, actively participate and have fun.
Sin 5 - Unpolished Appearance
Although it is a mistaken belief that airlines only seek cabin crew who look like models, it is true that airlines expect high standards of personal presentation. So, pay close attention to your personal grooming, and be sure to display a professional and presentable appearance.
Sin 6 - Selfish Motivation
Airlines are only interested to learn what you can bring to the position, not what the position will do for you. So, avoid appearing selfishly motivated by focusing your answers on where you can contribute and add value, not what you can learn or benefit from.
Sin 7 - Putting on an Act
In an attempt to create the best possible impression, it is only natural that most of us will put on some form of an act when in an interview situation. However, in doing so, it is important that you remain true to your own personality. Trying to be someone you are not will not only feel awkward, but it is also unnecessary.
Thanks you Yulfa so much for your response. Your advise helps a bit. I am too determined to get this, so to the yoga studio I shall go I will stretch like my life depends on it
