Online Status

Hey guys. I had opened an account on Emirates Careers site. And now having completed my FI, I would like to track my status online. So could you please tell me how I can do that? Where is it exactly in the site, etc.? I appreciate your kind answers.

Also, I knw Emirates will recruit 4000 cabin crew for 2011-12 fiscal year. So would this fact boost the chance of recruitment of more people?

Thank you

Emirates cabin crew layover hotels

I was wondering do the Cabin Crew share hotel accommodation when they are on layovers? Or does each Cabin Crew get their own room?

Ok, about that - if I'm let's say in London and I have a friend visiting London at the same time, can I invite them in my hotel room?

Sure you can, it's no problem. I've stayed with my sister who is EK crew plenty of times. One time, my whole family stayed with her!

Spikes

Well I have only been waiting for 2 weeks. But a colleague of mine got his status "approval in progress" already. But I cannot find that status stuff, so that I can also check mine as well. I guess you have right to email them after 6 weeks.

Approval in Progress

Hi everyone..

My Status changed from Applied to Approval in Progress today. Does that mean that I will be happy soon or It might be the opposite also?

Appreciate your reply

ladyC

Hi ladyC,
I received my contract along with the medicals the day I got my GC or the day after...but don't worry - even though you are required to upload the medicals in the next two weeks, nothing really happens, the system will not block you or something - I'll tell you what happened to my friend - he got his GC, had access to the Portal + Contract + Medicals the day after, but was requested not to start with the medicals for the next few weeks...so the 2 weeks had passed already before he started doing his examinations..the system was OK, nothing expires or anything like that...another friend of mine did not have access to the Portal for a week after he had received his GC, but he informed his coordinator and everything was OK...when I got my GC, the coordinator told me it might take 4-5 days before I get the contract..ah and, of course, don't forget their Offs are Friday+Saturday

@gen6 - the accommodation gets paid in full with all the bills included. When I joined we could move to other accommodation within 1year with no charge and after that you will be charged DHS1000. I'm not sure what the procedure is at the moment though. Some accommodation is further away than others (depends on where you want to be).
@I_Love_EK - You are right by saying that family can visit crew at the hotels but I wouldn't make it public that your whole family has stayed over as regulations are farely strict about things like that seeing that the company is paying for that crew member only (it is more from the hotel side of things that they dnt want people to do that as some people ended up by paying for an extra gets after this came out at the hotel) so please be very careful what you say in front of who - just some advise.
To everyone that has any family members or friends flying with us - once you have applied through the website, you will receive a ref nr (this code allows you to go back and change/check something). You can then give that nr to the person and there is a form they can fill out with your ref nr to "nominate" you to the company. It has been said that it could give you a good chance aswel. For those of you that received the call - well done, hope to see you guys here soon in the desert.
Good luck to everyone, and remember to be patient as there are alot of people applying and they need to organize them I.e accommodation, training days (classrooms are only that big people).
Hope this info helps a bit
