I'm sorry that you've been kept in suspense for so long. Not successful, Application under review, not successful, if that happened to me I'd probably feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster! I think that it would be best to contact the HR Department, because its already been more than six weeks.
Email them on the address they gave you at your final interview, and if you don't receive a reply after a few days, try calling them.
