Dook, Darn, you’re good at this. It is indeed. You have control! BSD. |
Cheers.
I've had a lot of practice. Going forward in time: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....12265c50a0.jpg |
Think it`s the Hunting 126 research aircraft......
|
Evening sycamore.
Unfortunately it's not British. |
Is it a Link trainer? Probably a modified one as I cannot locate this specific layout. |
Looks like too many instruments for a Link trainer.
It looks American, possibly a jet. |
Good morning all.
It's not a link trainer nor American. It is, however, a jet. |
Is it a research aircraft...?
VTOL...German..? |
Not really a research aircraft, but was intended to be a fast bomber. The prototype only flew once before the end WW2.
Not VTOL. Not German but it's worth pursuing that further...... |
'Further' being a long way to Japan, the Nakajima Kikka perhaps?
|
AHH,So ,Glasshopper.....Nakajima J9N Kikka.....Glosser Meteor looksalike....Arigato gasimos....OH ...IF collect....
AHHH,muss commit halla-killi, Jenkins-san..!!! |
Oh dear sycamore.
JENKINS got there just four minutes before you with the Nakajima Kikka. J has the thread. |
Thanks to Dook and to Sycamore. Not one in the pages of a Sycamore logbook? I fear I am really hopeless with cockpits, I do have another device available which I will inspect, so for now Open House I fear.
Me262, what a looker. Did the Israelis really fly the Czech derivative? |
No. They expressed interest in it but the deal to buy it was never finalised.
|
OK sycamore - hit it !
|
Try this then....

Big donk taildragger with collimating gunsight and one-piece front canopy.
Suspect restored WW2 fighter with big radial, probably American. edit: cockpit looks fairly close to the engine and canopy possibly bubble type. Not so easy as it looks. Ryan Fireball ? |
Not a Fireball; post war; the original MRCA...
|
Ah MRCA - Must Refurbish Canberra Again.
Not many post-war radial-engine machines of that type. Looking at American. |
Ah - prolly Skyraider.
|
Some 35 variants,from trainer to tanker,single to 4 seater,could even carry the `sunshine bucket`,and even lift it`s own weight in `goodies..
The `Flying Dumptruck`.... almost as heavy as a DC-3... ok,check tailwheel LOCKED,Throttle 58""check torque, salute the `shooter`,head back...away you go,gearup....... |
|
Off a `cat` shot ,the `reheat` would be felt in your trousers.....
Could be a Fournier ,with a `pea in a tube VSI`.... OH if......off to TV.... |
I work from a laptop whilst sitting facing the TV.
The challenge is not French. |
The shape of the nose is very reminiscent of an SGS 1-26. |
This lightweight is powered.
|
The aeroplane is amateur designed.
It may be purchased as plans only, in kit form, or ready to fly. Single seat, single engine, hinged canopy. Tailwheel or tricycle. |

Duz dunnit !
What do you have for us next...…. |
|
One instrument is labelled "variometer" which is Eurospeak for what we and the Americans refer to as a VSI.
Variometers in this country are usually reserved for sailplanes but this has an rpm gauge. I thus think this is European, but might be wrong. Might it be a motor glider ? |
Correct, it is European.
|
And a motor glider I hope.....

That sketch is not in any Jean-Luc Beghin portfolio worse luck.

It is French and has an open cockpit.
|
Now the difficult part...……….
