I think you are concentrating on the wrong detail.
You are looking at the whole dashboard.

India Four Two 23rd Oct 2019 05:13

I thought I knew a lot about military gliders, but I've just discovered the XLRA-1 and the XLRQ-1 amphibious gliders! One of those two?

sycamore 23rd Oct 2019 08:13

German DFS A-2/B-1...?

Self loading bear 23rd Oct 2019 09:32

It is not amphibious but this Glider never came beyond the X designation.
1&1/2 build.

sycamore 23rd Oct 2019 09:52

GAT-XCG-16A......?

OH if correct....

Self loading bear 23rd Oct 2019 10:57

XCG-16A it is.
1 built (and a half size scale model)
In the Netherlands a Belgian Coach is 12m wide and 3m long because all Belgians want to sit in the front...
42 troops loaded in the sides

OH called

dook 23rd Oct 2019 14:08

Good afternoon/morning.

BSD 23rd Oct 2019 14:57

Partenavia P68 ? The one with the glass nose?

dook 23rd Oct 2019 15:06

Indeed - it's called the Observer.

New balls please.

BSD 23rd Oct 2019 15:28

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....a2e5f4fd3.jpeg
Yay! (Re the Observer) but as far as the new balls are concerned try this. Not the best photo, but all I could manage.

dook 23rd Oct 2019 15:36

Aeronca C3 maybe.

BSD 23rd Oct 2019 16:57

The Aeronca is correct! The “bathtub”

All over to you.

India Four Two 23rd Oct 2019 17:06

Budd Davisson’s review of the C3 is a must read:

Aeronca C-3 Pilot Report

His other reviews are very good too. I must re-read them when I have a spare week!

dook 23rd Oct 2019 17:12

I found it by making it brighter and looking at the name on the fuel selector at the top.

Nuvver one then:

BSD 23rd Oct 2019 18:13

Re the Aeronca: I didn’t see the Aeronca symbol under the fuel selector until I had posted the photo.

if gone to huge lengths to manoeuvre the camera so that the column obscured the placard with the reg on it!

Will read its review.

Next pic: haven’t a clue!

dook 23rd Oct 2019 18:30

Here is the fuel selector from the Aeronca.

An exotic homebuilt twin jet...?

dook 23rd Oct 2019 19:51

Twin jet yes.

Long way from a homebuilt though.

Designed for the military and the aim is to sell at below.$US20M per copy.

Self loading bear 23rd Oct 2019 20:10

Nice to also see more contemporary cockpits.

India Four Two 23rd Oct 2019 22:41

I didn't know there were so many modern military twin-jets. I still haven't found it!

SincoTC 24th Oct 2019 07:01

Hi Guys,

Not wishing to spoil the hunt with an Open House as I've been tied up with the medics for a few days and so unavailable, off again today but I have found dooks challenge by putting "military twin-jet to sell at below $20M per copy" into Google, it returns 73,000 hits but right at the top of the first page is a BBC article worth looking at

If the BBC is not accessible in some places, then further down the first page is an article by NextBigFuture

Happy hunting and try not to get bitten!! 👍

SincoTC 24th Oct 2019 13:52

OK, back from the Quack!!

Seeing as this one's still hanging, I'd better toss my hat in the ring and see if I was barking up the wrong tree :hmm:

I reckon it's the Textron Scorpion ?

dook 24th Oct 2019 14:02

You be right me 'ansome - Textron Scorpion.

Off ye go.

SincoTC 24th Oct 2019 14:12

Thanks dook! Good old Mr G and searchable clues!!

Try this one, not that old and should be easy :)

https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....7c67fc34b7.jpg

dook 24th Oct 2019 14:19

Fully integrated glass cockpit so not that old.

Clearly by the throttles a twin-jet.

Business jobber ?

Possibly the Williams V-Jet.

SincoTC 24th Oct 2019 14:37

Yes a twin-jet

Born lived and died in the noughties, but later resuscitated and re-launched with a new designation!

Pioneer of a new class of business jets.

Not the Williams machine, but there was a connection

dook 24th Oct 2019 14:57

Like you said - good old Mr.G.

Just looked up the Williams and:

"Williams had not intended to produce the aircraft, but it attracted a lot of attention, and Eclipse Aviation was founded in 1998 to further develop and produce the aircraft. The airframe was significantly redesigned as an all-metal structure sporting a T-tail and the name Eclipse 500".

SincoTC 24th Oct 2019 15:19

Yes, it is indeed the Eclipse 500, well found!

You have control :ok:

dook 24th Oct 2019 15:25

Cheers.

So how about a different cockpit view....

sycamore 24th Oct 2019 15:30

Sipa Minijet..../?

dook 24th Oct 2019 15:33

You're quicker than the Sundance Kid !! :uhoh:

Sipa it is.

Your deal.

sycamore 24th Oct 2019 15:51

Give an arm or a leg for a trip in this.........after the trip
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....5e48395fcf.jpg

dook 24th Oct 2019 16:24

Interesting that the bang seat handle cover says REAR.

I can also see that the image is on Airliners.net.

So is this an expired two-seater with the rear bang seat cover saying FRONT ?

dook 24th Oct 2019 16:38

Well, I've searched appropriately in Airliners - straightforward.

I think the pilots' name is Major Error.

I'll be quiet now.

Self loading bear 24th Oct 2019 18:18

It's classified. I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

It’s time to buzz the tower.

I would probably have to loose a leg and an arm before I would be able to fit in.

dook 24th Oct 2019 18:20

The cockpit of my first operational aeroplane was half the size of this one.

sycamore 24th Oct 2019 19:59

There may be a little guy in front,or it could be to get rid of the GIB...; and maybe vice-versa
SLB, is your leg `loose`,or are your `speed-jeans` not tight enough...?
dook, you may have been only half the man you are now........you didn`t have enough fuel to fool around,or even turn around, with those bloody great bonedomes...Now ,don`t spill your coffee down yer shirt...need a definitive name and number... you know the drill, full cold ,head back, watch the shooter.........cold shot ,eject....

dook 24th Oct 2019 20:08

….then hit him with a Phoenix !!

oncemorealoft 24th Oct 2019 22:21

After all the not so subtle Top Gun references is it an F14 Tomcat?

sycamore 24th Oct 2019 22:29

o-m-a,,sweep yr wings fwd matey,follow the handler,hook on,brakes -off,take-out your false teeth,headrest,hands-off,salute,shooter..whoosh ..., Tomcat AIRBORNE...all yours....

Point of interest; did `we` ever put covers over the handles....? never saw it meself...
