Sycamore is on the right track.
This French Squadron fought at the Eastern front.
Edit:
i need to learn to count
The kills as mentioned by Sycamore do actually count up to the 13
painted on the fuselage.

dook 9th Aug 2019 21:19

I ask again - Ivanovo ?

Self loading bear 9th Aug 2019 21:32

Not in Ivanovo

sycamore 9th Aug 2019 21:39

SLB,( 2x5)+3= 13,or do you add 15% in Euroland....(he did have 2 shared ground kills as well)

Syca,

Apologies

13 indeed

Marchi`s aircraft `White 4` is displayed in Le Bourget museum.....

Self loading bear 9th Aug 2019 22:09

That is correct
I visited there a week ago.
The same photo is displayed in the dedicated Normandië-Niemen pavilion.

I think however te caption in the museum is wrong.
So Le Bourget is not the place we are looking for.

sycamore 9th Aug 2019 23:11

Orsha,or Pillau...?????

In the end The Eastern front moved to the west.

Second World War[edit]

Self loading bear 10th Aug 2019 09:03

Not Lithuania

The shatter gun approach of Asturias does cover the approximate date of the photo’s i posted but the places stated are all to far East.

I will wait till after next proposal of any of you before i will reveal what i have found the location.

dook 10th Aug 2019 09:20

So are we in Poland or Germany by any chance ?

Maybe Stuttgart

Asturias56 10th Aug 2019 09:21

not a scatter gun but a list of where they were based according to Wikipedia (I know, I know....) - so we didn't have to plough through every WW2 airfield in E Europe.......

Still it's certainly cut down the area!

sycamore 10th Aug 2019 09:58

I have seen a picture which says `Khaborovsk`,3500nm East....
How about Dubrovka...? as other pics sa it was taken March `45...?

Self loading bear 10th Aug 2019 10:14

Dook has nailed it to Stuttgart
I have found the photos on the web stating march-june 1945.
