I can just make out the serial number under the wing. Looking...

I have found your photo uncropped but the site doesn't say where it is. :{

dook 2nd Jul 2019 13:14

MG751.

One site says it is Blackbushe and another Fontanarossa.

Asturias56 2nd Jul 2019 13:21

Curses!! I knew I shouldn't have put that one in first... Fontanerosa it is ... quite an interesting history... Over to Dook - I'm going to have to find something seriously

RAF Kallang ,S`Pore......OH if correct

dook 2nd Jul 2019 14:46

Good afternoon sycamore.

Close but no cigar.

kenparry 2nd Jul 2019 15:03

Seletar?....

dook 2nd Jul 2019 15:05

I thought you would get this Ken.

Seletar it is.

Your watch.

kenparry 2nd Jul 2019 15:10

dook, thanks. Back in the 60s my Flt Cdr on 1 Sqn (sadly recently departed this world) had started his fighter career on the Hornet in FEAF. A tenuous connection, I know.

Standby for the next

dook 2nd Jul 2019 15:51

Are there any Harriers behind the camera ? ;)

kenparry 2nd Jul 2019 15:59

No - they are off to the left!

dook 2nd Jul 2019 16:20

I did a display where I think it is with a Jaguar in 1984 and yes - the groundcrew did leave a saucer of milk in front of the nosewheel !

Let's see if anyone else knows it.

Asturias56 2nd Jul 2019 17:04

Is that a 1 Squadron line-up?

kenparry 2nd Jul 2019 17:08

Yes. All are types the Sqn had flown - even the Harvard, from the slightly less than glorious days as Fighter Command's instrument training squadron.

dook 2nd Jul 2019 17:15

I've flown one of them. :)

Asturias56 2nd Jul 2019 17:20

lets punt on RAF Wittering? If I'm a winner OH as I'm travelling tomorrow

kenparry 2nd Jul 2019 17:47

Your punt is correct. It was a 1 Sqn open day in 1971, fairly early days for the Harrier.

Asturias has declared OH

lauriebe 3rd Jul 2019 01:33

Quite a long way from Wittering.
