I thought we might be.

Flap40 17th Jun 2019 19:19

No, we are not.

englishkev 17th Jun 2019 19:19

Looks like Balzers heliport in Liechtenstein

Flap40 17th Jun 2019 19:22

We have a winner.

englishkev 17th Jun 2019 19:26

As I was having a sneaky look on the web at work. Could I declare open house?

dook 17th Jun 2019 19:28

Certainly.

I for one would like to see you back here.

  1. As it is open house:

"low flying aeroplanes" certainly Nederland and looks like the polders.

They appear to be unloading something from the truck.

dook 17th Jun 2019 20:30

Does that mean it's not Nederland ?

Self loading bear 17th Jun 2019 20:35

Sorry,
as there are No (big) polders in those countries, we are therefore indeed in Nederland.

dook 17th Jun 2019 20:49

Found this :

The first plant to establish itself, though more so in the later polders than in the Wieringermeer, was reed, sown from the air by plane onto the muddy flats while the polder was still being drained.

Flevoland ?

Self loading bear 17th Jun 2019 21:00

Indeed Reed sowing with the Dutch kolibri ram jet helicopter.
Flevoland is indeed the province.

dook 17th Jun 2019 21:03

You say big polder, so is this the Afsluitdijk ?

oh dear,
Saying such a thing in Nederland places you just slightly above the American tourist who says Amsterdam is the Capital city of Copenhagen....

As you could have seen on Google Earth the Afsluitdijk is not a boundary of a polder.
It divides the former Zuiderzee into the IJsselmeer and the Waddenzee.
This eliminated the need to maintain a lot of Sea dykes which need to be higher than river and lake dykes.

dook 18th Jun 2019 07:48

I think my European geography is better than the average American.

So what are we looking for ?

Is it the airfield in your second airfield image ?

JENKINS 18th Jun 2019 08:21

While not fulfilling the function which you describe, I am aware of a demo of the machine to HRH Prince Bernhard at Soesterberg.

Yes, that is posted as a clue.
The first shot of the helicopter is from a dyke roughly in the neighborhood.

and Soesterberg is not what we are looking for

dook 18th Jun 2019 09:38

So if that is a clue, I assume we are looking for the location of the helicopter image.
