Ok, let's narrow things down a bit. SLB is at least 500nm too far North.
Given the N-S dimensions of Norway I think the 500nm reference isn't really going help.
I've been looking at snow reports. Austria or Switzerland ? |
Thats why I said 'at least' dook. There have been record snowfalls in parts of the Alps and I commend your reasoning. It is one of the two.
Austria looks the better bet.
That's the one. Should be easy to find now. There are clues in the picture.
Zell am See has a strip.
Yes it does, but it's not that. Zell am See is next to a lake.
Yes I know that but there's not much of the area shown.
There's no lake close to here but there are a couple of other things which might help. One is obvious and one not so much.
That would be the TWO heated pitches. |
Nothing to do with pitches. Try line features.
There is a snow covered rail track apparently unused |
I've done my bit so I'll leave it to others now.
Well spotted SLB. It's not disused but it doesn't operate in winter.
How about Kufstein?
Engadin has a football pitch on west side edit aber ist in die Schweiz |
Not Kufstein. Wrong river.
Not Engadin. Es ist in Osterreich.
Mauterndorf? (but no football pitch on Google) |
Mauterndorf LOSM it is. The football pitch postdates the Google image. The railway line is narrow guage and runs steam trains and hauls timber in the summer. The airfield is the highest in Austria at 1110m amsl (for our continental friends). Well known gliding site due to mountain wave and ridge soaring conditions. Powered aircraft welcome in the summer. I understand that a few ski equipped aircraft operate in the winter. Friendly lot there.
SLB has control. |
