which direction is North?

dook 28th Jul 2019 08:42

Just to the right of top.

We are looking about 340.

Asturias56 28th Jul 2019 10:14

is that in a river or an estuary? Doesn't look like much like a sea to me.........

dook 28th Jul 2019 10:22

It's a river estuary just before the sea.

Asturias56 28th Jul 2019 11:19

I think we are East of Suez?

dook 28th Jul 2019 11:37

We're a long way west of it.

Asturias56 28th Jul 2019 11:43

The America's?

Asturias56 28th Jul 2019 11:47

Got it!! Islas Martin Garcia - right in the middle of the Rio Plate but in Uruguay................. not that many big estuaries with both trees AND a small island that has an airport................

dook 28th Jul 2019 11:49

Bingo - nicely done.

All yours. :ok:

Actually according GE the airport is on the Argentinian side of the island.
But a good challenge and find anyway.

Asturias56 28th Jul 2019 12:01

OK - it was just too well developed to be Alaska or Newfoundland...

Try this.... the Airport is not located in the town who's name it bears..........

Now here's an interesting aircraft ID problem....

dook 28th Jul 2019 13:01

Eastern Europe ?

Asturias56 28th Jul 2019 13:22

yes - it foxed me for a while - but an aircraft ahead of it's time ...... . not E Europe

We're talking late 50's early 60's

dook 28th Jul 2019 14:50

….ahead of its' time....

France or Italy ?

sycamore 28th Jul 2019 15:24

Meteor u16 or u21....... UK or OZ...?

chevvron 28th Jul 2019 15:53

Farnborough? Architecture is similar to some of the (now demolished) buildings.

dook 28th Jul 2019 16:07

Quite possibly RAAF Edinburgh, Adelaide.

Good ID sycamore and if it is, the credit must go to you.
