I think I am correct with Warboys.

My friend was at Wyton.

Ripton 18th May 2019 18:53

You are correct with Warboys although Wyton is a bit further down the road that disappears out of the top of the last picture. Warboys is just out of shot to the bottom left.

To answer your earlier question, I'm assuming you're referring to my user name, Ripton? I've lived in both of the Riptons.

They actually live in Warboys.

I asked previously about you location because of your seemingly intimate knowledge around New York.

Cows Getting Bigger

If I may interject, for those that haven’t seen or connected the dots... Cows Getting Bigger a.k.a Dave Phillips flew his last approach yesterday.

Threads in the Military and Middle East Sections.

dook 18th May 2019 19:13

I am very very saddened to hear that.

Blue skies Cows.

Self loading bear 18th May 2019 19:32

My condolences to Dave’s family, the families of his colleagues and all people who will miss them.
I trust Dave and his colleagues are lined-up on the flight path to heaven.
Cows will be missed in this parish.
I will think of him, that he will now have the best aerial view on all challenges.
RIP

Seconded,and thanks DD.....

nvubu 19th May 2019 08:08

SLB sums it up perfectly.

I only knew Cows through this thread, and always found his challenges interesting as they were ones he had taken deliberately for us to solve - which I never seemed to be able to do.

kenparry 19th May 2019 14:53

I can only echo what nvubu said above. Sad days, and deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

I've connected with him many times on FF but didn't realise he was on here as CGB.

Not too intimate but we visit friends there on a fairly regular basis. As I said the road name jumped out at me when I was trying to work out a relatively traffic free route out to other end of Long Island and I googled it.

An AW139.

It brings up your uncropped pic.

We'll leave it up shall we.

dook 20th May 2019 15:45

SLB,

PM replied.

dook 20th May 2019 15:56

I seem to be the only one who is playing.

This helicopter is at Malta - Luqa I think.

dook 20th May 2019 16:20

Dave "Spot" Phillips' passing has been posted on a private air traffic control site.

Hmmm, some good guesses, some not so good. It isn’t Luqa, I’ve saved that one for another time.

Perhaps the RAF’s ubiquitous overseas sqn required the increased height doors?

The challenge which Cows has not been able to post.

Luqa Malta it is
book has control

dook 20th May 2019 17:45

Thank you SLB.

This airfield has received some visitors it appears.
