First bite I would say UK.

JENKINS 16th May 2019 16:20

Indeed, I had a day-out in the area today.

dook 16th May 2019 16:41

I wish I knew where "Chicken Run" is.

Bomber country ?

chevvron 16th May 2019 16:41

Long Newnton near Tetbury., far from 'bomber country' in 'Mildands Training Airfields' country.
and OH

JENKINS 16th May 2019 17:00

Yes, Long Newnton, WW2 training field. An enormous clue of that long straight hedge line. Such hedges useful in my 'chicken run' country as datum lines for aeros. I fear that the chicken runners have tended to disappear in line with the disappearance of a small striped rodent.

OH declared.

dook 16th May 2019 17:43

Yes - I had just found it to find that chevron had got there first.

Remnants of a roman road? It peters out when it hits Kemble to the north east.
The airfield apparently has a WW1 history too; post war it was used by a gliding club which moved to Aston Down and I'm sure I saw it listed in the RAC list of recognised kart circuits too.

JENKINS 16th May 2019 19:33

The Fosse Way.
