Correct, although it's not actually part of the hotel, the spa, pool, gym and squash courts are open to anyone willing to pay. They'll even lend you racquetes and trainers.

Yes it is in France - no longer an aerodrome though.

Built before the war, but expanded by the Luftwaffe between 1940-42.

From those clues it might be NE France.

Not NE France.

Fairly far away from any front line on land.

I have found several which are described as "no record found of any Luftwaffe units stationed there" so was it actually used by the Luftwaffe ?
