Yesterday you said, you passed often but never visited?
As I understood from your other challenges you fly professionals in (and around) Europe.
Then this airfield is a nowadays a GA airfield and in the vicinity/approach of a bigger airfield?

France?

JENKINS 2nd Feb 2019 20:47

Yes to propinquity, field no longer active with perhaps an occasional unplanned visit, oops, and is not in France.

Dora-9 3rd Feb 2019 05:29

Dook, I suspect you've mis-identified the airfield in Post #12054. I would contend that it isn't Rechlin but Lechfield. The Me 262's depicted are captured examples operated by "Watson's Whizzers" on 10th June 1945, about to depart Lechfield for Cherbourg (via St Dizier and Melun). They were crated up there and shipped to the US.

Chevvron:

And 4 x 262s serviceable at the same time?https://www.pprune.org/images/icons/46.gif
There are NINE Me 262's lined up in the uncropped photo!

Do you know something we should know?

Germany it is.

No - just a very quick response as I headed out of the door - but it HAD to be Germany so it was a bit tongue in cheek really................... and no crosswordy type clue either!!

Back to the challenge

England south of the line from the Wash to Southampton?

chevvron 3rd Feb 2019 08:30

No well north of that line - Langford Lodge (that's the shoreline of Lough Neagh at top left) which gets occasional visitors thinking they are landing at Aldergrove.
OH again.

JENKINS 3rd Feb 2019 09:48

Yes, Langford Lodge. A Martin-Baker link to the field is refected in the position of Chalgrove, Martin-Baker as was Langford Lodge, in relation to Benson. I sat as No.2 and witnessed my lead make the same mistake at Chalgrove as Dan with a 748 made at Langford Lodge. I dropped a hint! Lough Neagh? I try to leave a tiny clue in my screen-grabs.

OH declared.

Ok.
Still not sure if I am a regular or a newbie.

Succes! SLB

dook 3rd Feb 2019 09:57

Definitely a regular.

You have a habit of posting pictures from the Netherlands. Is this another ?

Asturias56 3rd Feb 2019 10:01

The Registration might be OO - Belgium??/

JENKINS 3rd Feb 2019 10:43

Grimbergen? Good ale there.

Asturias56 3rd Feb 2019 10:46

Certainly looks like it Jenkins - but where in Belgium do you NOT get good beer? I think we need to be warned......................

JENKINS 3rd Feb 2019 10:55

My brother lived in Grimbergen. If it is the strange architecture of the hangars at the field, please may I declare OH in advance. If not,, keep on trying. The thaw here is working, and a walk in sunshine is required.

Beer bottles in delightful cylinders, excellent for ankle-biter play-things.

dook 3rd Feb 2019 11:15

Thaw. Wossat ?

Here in "God's waiting room city" we only received about 3mm of snow and that disappeared yesterday.

I have a habit of posting challenges of airfield to which I have a (slight) relation.
Visited, flown from or passed by in the car or relates to Dutch air history.
Sometimes I also post challenges of airfields which I find on Google earth when searching for somebody else’s challenges.
Like this one, Grimbergen GA airfield with the two quite remarkable round hangars.
I read on the website of Grimbergen that the self supporting concrete structure is less than 10 cm’s thick!

Open house declared by Jenkins

I will keep on searching for more challenging posts.
Jenkins, how many brothers do you have and where have they lived?
I can skip those airfields!!

This might be easy.
