Thar be gliders :ok:
Not sure whether it is for D-Day or Market Garden though. |
D-Day...……...
That looks like a UK airfield. Could it be the 09 threshold (pre-extension) at Lulsgate?
I'll take a stab at Tarrant Rushton.
ea200 takes the biscuit with Tarrant Rushton.
Thanks dook. Nothing to hand and off to bed so OH.

After some of the great images recently, you might like a breather with this one. |
Doesn't look UK, but the square by the control tower reminds me of UK, so I'd go for Commonwealth country - one of Australia, Canada, New Zealand or South Africa?
Yes nvubu, you are in the correct ball park with your idea. Cheers.
Good thinking nvubu.
I'll start with Australia. |
It`s not Auz Dook, but your on the right track.
Good pointer.
NZ ? |
How about Whenuapai (NZWP)?
It is NZ Dook. It`s not Whenuapai chimbu warrior, but I can well see why you might suggest it.
It`s getting a bit dark in my part of the Commonwealth now Gents, so bed time it is until 1900 or so. If anyone gets it right before then, rather than delay any more image posts, if you are all happy, you might like to continue on. |
I have just searched "new Zealand old airports aerial" and on the second line down is an aerial view of Old Canterbury Harewood.
Looks bang on dook - there's a blog spot page showing the changes over time. (this website doesn't allow a link to blog spot or even the full word entered :( )
Is anyone else happy that Harewood is correct ?
