Tacoma McChord AFB ?

dook 22nd Feb 2019 16:58

The serial number of the Fairchild doesn't make sense and records show that it was never allocated.

Probably because this C-82 Packet crashed on its maiden flight and was never put on record?
plenty of C-82 with 44-22... regs. to find.

I say maidenflight because I found a match with Hagerstown

If found to be correct, credits go to dook and he then can have control.

Now we wait patiently tills Evans wakes up.

I thought it was Hagerstown based not on a photograph, which is why I doubted myself.

evansb 22nd Feb 2019 19:45

Okay Gents, the location is Omaha, Nebraska. OPEN HOUSE.

dook 22nd Feb 2019 19:58

Sod it - I found that as well but rejected it !

dook 22nd Feb 2019 20:21

I suggest you post again as this is the same East Boldre as on 11th of February?

dook 22nd Feb 2019 22:02

But it isn't.

Did only see a button (no photo)
clicked button and got your latest challenge!
second fault in 2 hours as i now also found the differences between Hagerstown and the first Omaha picture!
so much for my Prudence!

Separate Belfast truss sheds (not hangars!!) which I reckon is early WWI layout, so UK.

Fowlmere?

OH if correct.

SLB

dook 23rd Feb 2019 13:39

Well found SLB.

WW1 Waddington it is.

SLB has called OH.

broadreach 23rd Feb 2019 22:20

This isn't in the Pacific either, and these days the view on departure's more to the liking of inhabitants than that on approach.

Vague resemblance to Las Palmas but I don't think it is.

Max Tow 24th Feb 2019 09:01

Caracas? OH if correct.

dook 24th Feb 2019 09:47

It's not Caracas but I think it is somewhere in South America.

However, he has said it's not the Pacific so maybe not.

Max Tow 24th Feb 2019 10:13

Er...I thought it was up to OP to judge guesses?

broadreach 24th Feb 2019 10:15

Apologies for the delay! Max Tow is correct, at least in the sense that Maiquetia is the international airport for Caracas. And he has called Open House.

Edit: sorry, Maiquetia is the city on the coast; the airport's name is Simon Bolivar IIRC.

dook 24th Feb 2019 10:15

I simply looked at Caracas.
